Rewriting My Husband's Tragic Ending

As the bastard child of the Anzak king, Alexia knew she was destined for very little. The Book of Wolves foretold her destiny as a side character, from her impoverished childhood to her brutal death at the hands of the enemy prince, Tervion. But when Alexia is sent to assassinate him, the story changes. Now she’s engaged to him as part of the peace treaty between their two countries. In the face of mortal danger and abandoned by a loveless father in enemy lands, Alexia must decide where her loyalties lie and whose life matters most.

Disclamer! It's late when I'm writing this so it's a little all over the place, sorry This manhwa is confusing to say the least. The story is confusing. The motives behind the characters are confusing. The art is confusing. "How can the art be confusing?" Like - I kid you not - in chapter 21 the ml says that it's the middle of the night but it's not shown through the art at all! It looks like it's in the middle of the day! Like, not even evening or anything, it's like really sunny! And idk, I think that that's pretty telling how the artist feel about this story themself.  And none of the characters are really all that enjoyable either. I think that the only character that I've genuinly liked was the doctor in chapter 4, because he was cute and very eager to learn when it turned out our fl knew about healing plants (which technically is kinda weird that he didn't know considering that he was like the royal doctor or somthing). The fl is pretty plain, both in looks (except her eyes. Her eyes look cool but they still somehow makes them look plain??) and personality. She isn't very charismatic - which I think are important in these kinds of stories - but she still (spoiler!) has like 2 love intrests (as of chapter 24 at least)?? Like, the ml seems to have history with her - but she doesn't remember - and I don't know what it is yet! (If I continue reading this...) Sooo I can't say if it feels beliveble or not yet (she probably saved him when they were kids or something, because that's usually what happens in these stories) but he is pretty possessive of her really early on in the story? And it feels a bit weird -  I mean he is a tyrant, because that's his character, so I guess it gives him a pass or something but anyway! Now, who is this other guy? The other love intrest I mentioned? It's a spy planted by the fl's country/empire/whatever-it-was into the country/empire/whatever-that-was that the ml is the prince of. This spy had been undercover for yEARS and was disguised as a guy with a hunchback(? is that how you spell it, I think so??) which I liked, because I thought he was cute (and variety in apperances!!!!) but that was before I knew that he naturally had "pretty/handsome" form aka his original form blu bluh... anyway, he is super loyal to his country and king (who is the fl's jerk dad) and he belives the king cares about his daughter, which he do not, and is in denial when the fl starts talking about how she was abandonned blah blah he somehow falls in love with her anyway and he decides that f* his mission and "I'm going to get the princess out of here" which she does not want and when presvaiding her doesn't work he instead uses illusion magic after an attack by the ml's brother (who also likes her after like one interaction even though he is in aggressive denial) to trick her into escaping with him by making it seem to her like he was escorting her to the annex. Of course she notices it (with her fl-powers or something) and ends up cutting herself because??? Idk because he cares for her but it was pretty random aNYWAY they have a conversation where he is like "don't you trust me?" which she says "of course I do" which is absolute bs because of the litteral interaction they jUST HAD with the knife! Oh and she gets like attacked like every other night. Even though the ml/prince says that if anyone even touches a hair on her head that they will be killed as punishment. And she trusts noone (that's also why the thing with the knife felt like such bs) so yeah, mister spy-guy is making everything even weirder and I don't even know what I'm writing anymore aaaaaah anyway, I don't have anything more to say at the moment besides that the art also is very awkward and stiff, bye!
