[Reviewed at Chapter 387] This is an average to slight-above-average cultivation manhua. In the general context of webcomics it could be considered "trash", however for an average cultivation-genre manuha, it's not half-bad.  The Good:- MC is an adult and there are no annoying kids, unlike certain other popular cultivation manhua- MC is OP, ruthless, and doesn't think twice before killing someone- MC levels up relatively quickly- No harem- No romance, although MC does have some feelings for a girl - who rarely features in the story, so it's never in-your-face- Not too many "you're courting death!" scenes, although there are some. Wouldn't be a cultivation manhua without it!- No annoying trope where MC lets the villain live/escape, and they come back to take revenge- BingeworthyThe Bad: - Level progression is whack. MC jumps from one major realm to the next like it was nothing. Even heavenly tribulations are nothing to the MC, and the tribulations themselves aren't even noteworthy. This supersonic progression makes the story seem rushed.- No explanation about the levels and realms are given. You'll need to make a note of it yourself, because there's no Fandom page for it- No details or explanation about the MC's skills is given. The fighting basically comes down to MC being stupidly strong and therefore brute-forcing his enemies, although to be fair he does use formation traps a couple of times, but he doesn't use it too often. In most of his fights, there's little strategy involved.- The trope where MC's friend/pet/family gets kidnapped/tortured/used as bait etc, gets a bit repetitiveOverall, whilst this manhua doesn't do anything unique or new that we haven't already seen before, it has some good things going for it - such as no harem or romance, and avoiding certain stereotypes. The MC is likeable. The story also follows your usual manhua developments, and Season 1 (ch 387) ends in a cliffhanger that makes you want to read more. Edit: Here's the cultivation levels that I've noted down for myself, let me know if there's any mistakes because it was a bit confusing in the beginning and even contradictory in some places.1. Starry realm2. Moon realm3. Sun/Yang realm4. Heaven/Innate realm5. Infant realm6. Illusion realm 7. Infant Transformation realm8. Empty Silence realm9. Human King realm10. Human Emperor realm11. Human Immortal realm??. <A few Immortal realms>??. Immortal Emperor ----Search keywords: Yun Qingyan cultivation levels, Return of Immortal Emperor cultivation levels
