Listen, it is not the most majestetic masterpiece out there, but for me it is a nice little comfort read.

Story:

Simple stories centering around food. Sometimes the consept of the "between-worlds" restaurant is used really creatively. For example, in one of the stories a person survived on a deserted island for 20 years, because every Saturday a door to the restaurant would appear. In one we have a whole town of lizard people centering their culture around the omurice they buy from the restaurant ("the omurice cult" I like to call it). In one story we follow how the people of the RPG world invent pizza thanks to the restaurant. Some of the stories are interesting, some of them are not, but they all contain a lot of pretty darn good-looking food.

Art:

The art style is not anything special, but at least the food lools good. And I would say, I prefer the manga's art style over the anime's (just look what they did to my cute omurice cult lizards!) as the manga's style is more simplistic and cutesy, which I feel like fits more to a series like this.

Characters:

Not all of them are interesting, but all of them are likeable. The food is the main focus, but maybe it is just a simple pleasure to see characters sitting down and enjoying good food. We even get some 💫drama💫, as the Prince Sharif has a crush on Princess Adelheid, but is too darn awkward to say it out loud. My favourite pairing is still the ex-owners of the shop, as Yumi's and Daiki's meeting chapter was just way too wholesome.

Overall:

I am not saying it is a masterpiece, but I sat it is one of the most enjoyable manga's I have read for a while. And also extra thanks for the Finnish publishers for including some of the recipes at the end of the volume (yay, I got the omurice recipe!)

7/10 story
8/10 art
9/10 characters
8/10 overall
