There are some people after the heroine since Yuri is to be used as a sacrifice by the Queen while Noriko is the person who will awaken the Sky Demon. Fortunately the heroine gets saved by a handsome guy who takes her under his protection.

The plots of Red River and From far Away are definitely alike. Both have the lead girl, who gets whisked away to a land far back in time, where they speak a different language. Both get saved by a prince or warrior, and find that they play important roles in the place they are now in.

They share similar themes: Shoujo, Romance - but primarily the theme of 'person in a strange world'. Both deal with a japanese girl who is transported to a different era/world and she meets a handsome guy who protects her.

Both Anatolia Story and From Far Away have the same feel between the main characters.  The girl from our world and the guy from the other world develop equally strong feelings for each other; the manga reads quickly as you try to see how they will overcome their struggles.

They both feature a heroine that is transported into another world who falls in love with an inhabitant of that world. Neither solely focuses on romance, however, as there's a lot of plot and adventure in both! (The romance is still one of the main aspects of the story though!)

Basara and Red River are very similar – both set in historical background, both main female characters are considered saviors destined to change the country and both stories will not let you stop reading until the end. If you liked one because of the interesting plot and passionate love, you will definitely like the other.

Basara and Red River are both feature a historical rural setting where the characters are striving to live through each day.  There are overwhelming obstacles the main characters must face to try and make their love for each other succeed.

Both stories have a historical feel to them, strong elements of adventure and war and both mangas have a romantic subplot to them. They're both really good.

This, for sure. Red River and Basara both have powerful female leads, powerful plots, and powerful romances. They both have the grand fantasy feel to them. If you liked one you will certainly enjoy the other. Both of these girls become warriors and influential figures in historical landscapes dominated by male customs. 

I can't recommend these manga more. You like historical fantasy? Intricate plots? Badass female characters? Awesome royal family romance? Just read it man.

Both has strong female lead forced prophecy/destiny down a certain path. Lots of intrigue, fighting, betrayals, sacrifice. Loved them both but Red River will still be my all time favourite!

Prophecy, strong female lead, and self-growth during the story. I like both styles old-fashioned, and that the characters aren't dumb.

Red River is about a fifteen-year-old Japanese girl named Yuri Suzuki, who is magically transported to Hattusa, the capital of the Hittite Empire in Anatolia. She was summoned by Queen Nakia who means to use Yuri as a human sacrifice. Yuri's blood is the key element needed in placing a curse upon the princes of the land so that they will perish, leaving Nakia's son as the sole heir to the throne. Follows the story of Yuri as she falls in love with prince Kail and thwarts Empress Nakia's schemes.

Both manga deal with strong female characters who have time slipped into the past and get involved with the local politics of the ancient kingdoms. While the Pharaoh's Concubine takes you to the rule of Ramses the Third, Red river takes you on the other side of Egypt's border into the kingdom of the Hittite people (both are almost placed in the same time in history).

Absolutely love these mangas, they both have great plots and great lead females. If you like time travel and/or love stories filled with adventure then you would love both of these

it's got the same historical fact and reincarnation. The heroine is in both mangas deeply loved by the king adding the fact that both heroines are strong willed and smart.

Yay for sent back in time romances with ancient Egyptian pharaohs! I love the aesthetic of both, romance wise though pharaohs concubine is much more dramatic

If you like Legend of Nereid or Red River, then you you will probably like the other. Both start with a girl being pulled out of their normal lives. Both have a historical sense and have powerful men as the love interest.

I couldn't stop thinking of Red River when I read Legend of Nereid. Both have strong female characters who have similar mind-sets and beliefs. There are a lot of internal political stuggles and war in both. They also have a similar cast of supporting characters, with coniving queens, a sweet love interest and a more forceful one, and a servent that is scary dedicated to his respective master. Legend of Nerid is the darker of the two titles and Red River has more fanasty, but both are great reads and you should enjoy one if you liked the other.

In both manga the heroine gets transported to another world and ends up falling in love with the guy who saved her when she first arrived. She ends up missing her chance to go back to her world and while she's stuck there she agrees to help out the emperor in Fushigi Yuugi or the third prince in Red River, at least until she finds a way to get back to her world.

Both of these stories are about an ordinary high school girl who gets mysteriously transported to another time/place.  Once there, she becomes the bride/concibine of a prince and has to navigate the complexities of court life, from rivals for the throne to rivals for the prince's affection, and an over-zealous and thoroughly evil empress dowager.  Both heroines are bright, confident, and talented, and constantly manage to use their wits and allies to out-maneuver their opponents.  Both stories are also full of romantic and salacious moments between the herione and the prince as their affection (emotional and physical) grows.  If you liked one, you will definitely like the other.

Both in Red river and Empress of another world the protagonist ends up transported in another world where they fall in love and start a new life. Both stories are different but entrateining. Empress of another world is a full colour.

Both feature women from Earth who suddenly find themselves slipped through a portal into a world like similar to that of Earth in the distant past. Though the stories are quite different, they include similar ploat points. Both girls happen to be picked up by a prince - a handsome and talented man on his path to become the ruling monarch. Though this prince doesn't think much of her at first (and vice versa), he starts to fall in love with her. He tries to woo her, but coming on too strong fails as she is a modern woman who believes that dating comes before sex. While avoiding his advances, she desperately searches for a way back to her family - and helps the prince win some political points along the way. In time she finds the portal and her way back home, coming face to face with a decision between seeing her family again or staying with the man that she has grown used to having around (and might even love?).

Both story involves a modern heroine being transport to ancient worlds and become "goddess" to the people there. Both have plenty of romance triangles with royalties and both are full of historical references.

Both these series are about a girl that are transported back in time. Both of those girls are seen as a God by the people because they know things that hasn't happened yet or things that will happen or they know how to build things. The two main countries that the focus are most on is Hattusa and Egypt in both of them. These two series are very similar to each other, but there are still enough things that makes them different so it won't be boring reading the other one after reading one of them. If you enjoyed one of these two, then I strongly recomend you to read the other one.

Both manga have very strong female protagonists and lots of fighting where the girl can hold her own. Also there are interesting romantic relationships with a lot of back and forth.

The female lead is ultimate strong and very passionate agaist violent people. For people who like strong female lead who can fight, this is the one that you can never miss in your whole life. Trust me you will love it!

Both are about girls who end up in a prince's harem. Both main characters are strong-willed, caring, and don't act or look like a traditional concubine. They both win their respecitve prince's love and get themselves into situtions that the prince would rather they have stayed out of. Red River an element of magic that Sabaku no Harem doesn't, but overall they are similar enough that you will probably enjoy one if you liked the other.

These stories are very similar. They both have a strong female lead that is compassionate and, though they lack traditional concubine features of having heritage/status, they constantly prove themselves to be resourceful and able to solve problems.

Both are historical and feature a female mc who is engaging and relateable and becomes stronger as the series progresses in both battles of wits and battles of strength. Yuri and Yona are also very emotionally strong even when they have their moments of vulnerability in the narrative it's never distasteful or out of sync with their character. Both are very inspiring and likeable and are surrounded by an interesting cast of characters both friendly and villainous and inbetween.

In Yona's case there is no transportation but her circumstances change just as drastically as Yona's at the start of the manga.

Both of these manga are historical romance that draws you in. The main characters in both works also have slow burn romances, where they don't act upon the love they have for the men until later in the manga. The art styles are very different, but that doesn't take away from the enjoyment that can be received from both manga.
