Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire ♀ (Light Novel)

From his deathbed, Hero-King Inglis, the divine knight and master of all he surveys, gazes down on the empire he built with his mighty hand. Having devoted his life to statecraft and his subjects’ well-being, his one unfulfilled wish is to live again, for himself this time: a warrior’s life he’d devoted himself to before his rise to power. His patron goddess, Alistia, hears his plea and smiles upon him, flinging his soul into the far future. Goddesses work in mysterious ways—not only is Inglis now the daughter of a minor noble family, but at her first coming-of-age ceremony at 6, she’s found ineligible to begin her knighthood! However, for a lady of Inglis’s ambition, this is less a setback and more the challenge she was (re)born to overcome. “It’s not the blood that runs through your veins that makes a knight; it’s the blood you shed on the battlefield!” The curtain rises on the legend of an extraordinary lady squire reborn to master the blade!

This review was written after reading volume 9 How to make an isekai without it being an actual isekai? Hero-king Inglis is allowed by the goddess to be reincarnated after his death, in order to follow the path he never could as a king, aka fighting every single breathing thing on and above earth. With just a slightly unexpected twist: he gets reincarnated as a girl! Technically, he is reincarnated in the distant future of his own world, but it has changed so much that it’s virtually like if he were in a different one. Nonetheless, a subplot during the whole series is discovering what happened to make the world what it is in his new present, which makes for a good deal of interesting lore. But to be completely honest, the main focus is the comedy. Inglis is reincarnated as Inglis♀, nicknamed Chris, a buxom ludicrously overpowered beauty, with a supernatural appetite. No harem here, Inglis is now a girl, but she still likes girls, most of all watching herself in the mirror while trying out sexy clothes. But she doesn’t actually have time for other girls: she needs to punch every powerful opponent out there in the face. Every. Single. One. Hard. And then eat the equivalent of her own weight to celebrate. As you might have understood, this is mostly a borderline-nonsensical but still fun as hell power trip with hot girls, and I have yet to get bored of it.
