This is similar to "I'm in Love with the Villaines" so if you like one you'll like the other, on a different note I highly recommend both story's! As someone who doesn't really like angst/drama stories this is a great time filler.

At the writing of this review:

Manhua status: ongoing | Chapters released: 40 | Chapters read: 40 | Spoilers: No

Premise:

I state that having not read the novel of the same name, I cannot make comparisons between the two works, therefore, I will limit my review only to the 40 chapters released until the writing of this review. (I have read from "third parties" that this adaptation, at least until as of now, is very faithful to the novel from which it is based, but since I haven’t read it in first person, this "detail" is irrelevant.)

Story: 7/10

The plot is very simple and similar to other isekai set in the "Otome game" [In short, games aimed mainly at a female audience, since the protagonist will almost always be a girl who can have different "routes" (paths) that will lead to different male love interests and that in being able to unlock every single ending (good or bad) will have to face challenges, imposed by the game, through a "villain" who has to oppose the protagonist.], but this time our dear protagonist, Yvonne will not find herself in the role of the heroine, but rather in those of the "villainess", that is the antagonist par excellence.

After meeting the heroine and unlocking the "villainess system", from now on, her only purpose will be to bully heroin. So, what to do when the system asks you to hurt her while you don't want to and this "going against the system" leads to terrible consequences for you and your family? Like exile?

Not to mention that since the "accident" on the roof, the heroine has developed a certain "fixation" for our villainess. How will Yvonne live a quiet life between these two fires?

Art: 8/10

I really like the style of the drawing, clean, detailed and rich in color. From the first chapter I found it very suitable especially for the type of narration that the work offers us. Drawing is the first thing that makes you passionate about this manhua.

Characters: 8.5/10

I really like the characterization of the characters. It is immediately evident that the two protagonists are not the usual caricatures of the "good" and the "bad", on the contrary, they are full of nuances and this makes the unfolding of situations very different from other works of the same genre. I love the fact that in this manhua, there aren't those "stupid misunderstandings" that are part of the "clichés of the genre" that usually lead me to leave a work pending until that same misunderstanding is resolved (unfortunately yes there are works where this type of thing can cover more than 10/20 chapters...).

Overall: 8/10

At first it didn't inspire me, in fact, after 3 chapters I gave it a 6, also because when I started it there were about 10 chapters out... I did as usual, that is to wait for other chapters to come out so as to have a bigger picture on which to make my speculations and honestly I was surprised, as the vote went from a 6 to an 8. What a leap in quality, eh?

I must say that the thing that caught me most about this manhua, apart from the style of the drawing which I find very suitable for the "lightness" of the tones with which it is told, because yes, the drama is there, but it is not "heavy"; what I'm adoring instead is: the characterization of the characters. At first they may seem like the usual caricatures, but while reading you understand that this is not the case. I like it when the characters use their brains, knowledge of each other and empathy. The cliché scenes are there, but they are treated more as an addition than as a real plot advancement.

I got even with the reading, just yesterday, and I am really impressed that after the first 3 initial chapters, I got to chapter 40 without realizing it.

In fact, I can't wait for it to be August 15, so chapter 41 comes out and the adaptation of the 3rd volume of the novel begins.

This manga is just way too cute! Everytime I see the girls interact it's like "be still my beating heart" and the FAN SERVICE!😩😖🥰

Also, author-San is so clever with there system's 'villian tasks'. This is the type of creativity I love to see in romance stories. 😍

The art is lovely (besides a few things that bugged me, like how derpy the dragons look). I think that's the biggest draw of this series, no pun intended. It doesn't really break the mould anywhere else though. There's some character development and they have a good dynamic but the characters themselves are pretty stereotypical.

I dunno, i'd recommend it, but don't expect anything groundbreaking. if it sounds like something you'd like, you probably will, but if you've read a lot of similar things it's not going to blow you away.
