Red River is about a fifteen-year-old Japanese girl named Yuri Suzuki, who is magically transported to Hattusa, the capital of the Hittite Empire in Anatolia. She was summoned by Queen Nakia who means to use Yuri as a human sacrifice. Yuri's blood is the key element needed in placing a curse upon the princes of the land so that they will perish, leaving Nakia's son as the sole heir to the throne. Follows the story of Yuri as she falls in love with prince Kail and thwarts Empress Nakia's schemes.
Both manga deal with strong female characters who have time slipped into the past and get involved with the local politics of the ancient kingdoms. While the Pharaoh's Concubine takes you to the rule of Ramses the Third, Red river takes you on the other side of Egypt's border into the kingdom of the Hittite people (both are almost placed in the same time in history).
Absolutely love these mangas, they both have great plots and great lead females. If you like time travel and/or love stories filled with adventure then you would love both of these
it's got the same historical fact and reincarnation. The heroine is in both mangas deeply loved by the king adding the fact that both heroines are strong willed and smart.

At first, I didn't relate both stories because there are many other stories with this kind of story type (Person in a Strange World or Isekai). But when I read chapter 52 of "I Choose the Emperor Ending", suddenly I was being reminded of "Pharaoh's Concubine". I've read many this kind of manhwa/manhua, but I think it's the first time with the same kind of plot. To experience that (sorry, if I said more, it would be a spoiler), right in front of their very own eyes, just when they thought they would be happy... poor Edward, poor Sese.... They must have felt so deep in hurt. The reaction in chapter 55 was the same too.
Both have romance developed gradually with the female leads came from another world/another time. But "I Choose the Emperor Ending" is hilariously funny, while "Pharaoh's Concubine" more historic with its Egypt background. I enjoyed reading both. I've finished reading Pharaoh's Concubine, while on chapter 55 for I Choose the Emperor Ending (still on-going).
Both of these mangas have female protagonists that love powerful men. Their relationships are like porcupines. If they get too close, they end up hurting one another, but they just can't stay away. Both of these mangas were incredible to read.

Very similar stories in everything but the setting. However, both are about a girl who somehow ends up traveling to another time/world and gain the affection of a ruler. What also makes it similar to each other is they both then travel back to their own time (Inuyasha Style).
