19th century America isn't exactly the best place for a half-Asian child and her alcoholic single father. While the daughter struggles to make sense of the world, her father finds comfort in isolating himself. And of course, they fight. Against each other. With fists.
This manhwa may be a pretty new genre, and even the plotline may be unfamiliar or confusing to you at first, but DO NOT let that trick you. The story explores many themes such as (mild spoiler): Gender roles, racism, adultery, depression, abortion, filial relationships and prostitution. I recommend reading this again, just because the story is so complex and you may be able to catch some things you didn't catch before with a second read. Finishing reading this made me sad, it wasn't a happy ending it was tragic. It delves into the psychology of many characters, who are most certainly not just cannon fodder or surface level. Overall 10/10, art was actually pretty good, I just didn't like the proportions. I wish it was longer, but If it was longer i don't know if the quality would get worse so yeah, quality over quantity, plus reading this did not feel like 35 chapter, it felt like 100 LMAO haha just kidding but yeah it took me a while since each individual chapter has so much content and is rich.
