Oh, damn, I cried. It was beautiful. Probably the only ending to a book series that was really satisfying and not full of clichés!

I still have so many questions, but overall it was really good! Each chapter made me write down so many theories; it was so fun putting the pieces of the puzzle together. Some theories got true but there were so many plot-twists as well, without it seeming like plotholes.

There are some characters I really really despise, but they were still well-written. A lot of character depth.

I love that it's friendship-focused, and barely has romance. Made it much more enjoyable!

Thank you, Jun, you're a mastermind.

As early as my mind recalls, I remember seeing some of the Pandora Hearts anime when I was 8 or older. Although I was young and only saw only the first episode, it clearly left an impression on me if I can still remember it. Years later, after seeing a number of anime and manga, I have finally read the series and now I wish this was one of the series I had grown up with.

Story- It is soon to be Oz Bezarius's 15 birthday and with that his coming of age ceremony. However, all is set in motion when Oz is thrown into the prison known as the Abyss. In the Abyss live lifeforms called Chains that can only live in the real world by forming a contract with a human. From there Oz meets Alice, the first Chain he runs into. Together they form a contract and make it back to the real world. They are soon recruited into the Pandora organization, who goal is to research the Abyss and the ones who threw Oz into it. Now Oz and Alice search the land in order to find Alice's memory shards to learn about the Abyss and to find a way to break the contract without killing Oz or Alice. I have to admit, it took a while for the story to pick up, but once it did it was so worth it. Pandora Hearts may be a slow burner, but its a good slow burner.

Art- Pandora Hearts has some of the best artsyle I have seen when it comes to monthly shonen series. The time it took for fans to wait for each chapter must have been worth it, cause those color spreads were lit, no wonder the magazine did so many color chapter openings, cause Jun Mochizuki knows how to draw! On another note, the author also knew how to draw gore, since the series looks especially gorgeous!

Characters- When the author knows how to develop the side characters just as well as the main characters, you know the author is doing something right. You get attached to these characters, and then before you know it you get super sad and depressed when they die unexpectedly. Mochizuki-sensei is not afraid to kill off her characters, so don't be surprised when a character you love suddenly dies. Another plus would be the well written villains. Without spoiling who the villains are, I can happily say that the villains are relatable and over time they lost their way. I love how Oz is not a perfect character, with the fact that he tries to take everything on by himself, but eventually he grows past this thanks to Gilbert. I know people are complaining about the author not focusing on any romance between Oz and Alice, but think the author was focusing more on the camaraderie between the main characters.

Overall- I was trying to read more of this series during the day, but I think I realize my mistake in doing this. There is a lot of detail with every chapter, so this is a series you can't really rush through. I was able to slow down with the series and now I can really enjoy it. This was a grand adventure that Oz and the guys went through, and it was a roller coaster of emotions. This was definitely a shonen series that gave me the feels, something I don't think happens a lot.

I started reading Pandora Hearts almost right after it was translated. December 2010 or January 2011. It gave off different vibes than the other mangas I had been recommended. The premise was more interesting. The tragic backstories were handled well rather than "I am my tragic backstory". Characters were able to grow, there weren't random sidetracks, and oh my gosh the PLOT TWISTS! You don't see these things coming. Of course there are things that could be changed, but not more than other mangas.

I'm going to add something small about the art because it had an amazing improvement throughout the manga. It's not talked about enough.

Perhaps I'm more enthusiastic because of how much I loved the books, but I still highly recommend you try it.

Story - The story of Pandora Hearts is one of incredible design, and it leaves a real impact on the reader afterwards. I found the plot twists to be completely unpredictable yet they made sense entirely each time, it was a lovely rollercoaster to read and be a part of. The premise is a unique one that I've never seen before, and it has stayed in my mind weeks after reading it. The Alice in Wonderland elements add a very pretty design vibe.

Art - The art has a very distinct style and coloring, and you know immediately it's the work of Jun when you see it. This applies to their other series as well, the lines are readable and the eyes are drawn to it in simple ways, it's executed in a truly magnificent manner and that is clear to see as the story goes on and the art improves drastically from chapter 1 volume 1. It feels like watching the artist improve in real time.

Characters - The characters are some of the most unique I've seen, albeit still following some anime-based archetypes, they naturally diverge from those tropes and form their own place in your mind. This especially goes for Oz, one of our main characters, who at first seems like a typical happy-go-lucky manga protagonist. It really leaves an impression.

Critiques - My only critique is that the very start of the manga could have been made slightly more readable line quality wise.

Overall - Beautiful manga, I'd read this over and over given the opportunity.

Okay now my english probably won't enough to review Pandora Hearts but well I HAVE to write my thoughts about it.

First of all this mangas story is perfect. It has some unique characters, art is amazing and plot twists in story will probably suprise you a lot.

If you love dark fantasy you should read it for sure.

After this I'll give some heavy spoilers so if you didnt read it do not look at it.

Pandora Hearts was really a depressing manga to me because it made me cry A LOT. When I started to read it was like a comedy manga with some good, dark story.

But after Isla Yura's appereance story has became darker and more amazing. I love all the characters except a few. But my favourites Gil, Break and Elliot.

It didn't cross my mind that Elliot would die..

I thought that he is just like a sidekick character. Probably won't effect the story too much.

Well.....

When they said he was the one who cut heads I got really shocked. And when he died because of that Humpty Dumpty shit I cried a lot. A LOT!

Jack's plot twist didn't shocked me because I knew that something was wrong with him. He was too good. All that Hero shit and all that smiles. When I first saw him I thought 'hah he is probably a yandere or a manipulative maniac who deceive everyone' lol I was right. But it shocked me that Oz was a chain all along. Well Jack's and Oz's similatiries was always sounded strange to me but I didn't think he was a chain. That suprised me.

And for the Break...

My heart still aches for that 'I don't want to die. I still want to be here.'

I WAS A WRECK WHEN I FINISHED RETRACE 92 I CRIED LIKE 1 HOUR AND EVERY TIME I SAW SOME BREAK PANELS I STARTED TO CRY I REALLY REALLY LOVED HIM SO MUCH I CAN'T ERASE HIS SMILE WHEN HE REALIZED HE'LL GOING TO DIE. IT WAS SO HEARTBREAKING.

Well that was it.. This is my thought and heartbreakings about Pandora Hearts.

Everything is perfect about this manga.

And Gil. Everyone Gil is perfect husbando metarial. Look at his pouting face. He is like super cute. So read it for this cute little Gil. He wont disappoint you. Probably melt your heart with his cuteness
