In both stories there is an abusive relationship that starts with a small, nervous bottom being kidnapped by a larger, hard-to-read top. The difference here is that Killing stalking focuses more on its thriller element, while POTN focuses more on the s*x.

danayreyes danayreyes says...

´cause is amaizing the trama, characters, etc.

So the the authors are good at doing their job

AnimeLovarBC AnimeLovarBC says...

The parallels are obvious. Both Dominates are abusive in multiple ways, both are killers, both have an unhealthy obsession with their submissive, both are extremely manipulative. Also both of the bottoms are helpless to their abusers and are very pitiful characters. I love it.

BeingMe BeingMe says...

Both are yaoi with dramatic plot. You shoul be prepered for violence and sexual abuse. It handle with prejudices and drama.

WeAreWhatWeWatch WeAreWhatWeWatch says...

If you like Painter of the Night or Killing Stalking. You are into rough/abusive tops that take over and over whelm thier bottoms. The only thing with PotN is that is ends up with them growingng feelings for eachother while KS becomes a nightmare and the author dosen't consider it a BL.

If you enjoy this manga specifically because of the art, then you won't be disappointed with Pearl Boy. Each panel is a true joy to look at, and Na-kyum and Jooha even look similar at times. While the time period may be different, Pearl Boy also features a wholesome relationship dynamic, and a surprisingly compelling and dark plot that is nicely balanced with comedy and fluff.

If you enjoy twisted BL stories where the MC gets put in a difficult situation and is being pursued by a powerful, amoral main lead then you may enjoy this. Despite being different settings (historical vs military), they both have the same dark tone!
