Alright, so Ouroboros used to be my favourite manga and now is my favourite seinen. But I read it quite some time ago so I apologise in advance if I miss anything or my memory of particular scenes are inaccurate. I decided against using my normal format when writing this review since I find it easier to do it this way :> The story follows a policemas and a yakuza, who are very close and share the common goal of revenge. The brotherly-bond they share is wonderful and strong, but not without it's hardships as seen when the manga progresses. I enjoy seeing all the plot points, all with it's purpose to either present the main characters' attitude and/or tying in with the plot. The story can be a bit confusing at times, but if you read it thouroghly enough, then you will be rewarded with quite an emotional rollercoaster. The art, itself, is far from visually appealing in my opinion, which is a shame since there is no doubt that this will push away new readers. Characters are great. The more minor characters have a life outside of the main character's, have their own personalities and relationship, they don't exist solely to highlight the main character's skills and whatnot. The main FL is wonderful, she is not afraid to risk her life to fufill her duty and remains to be level headed, badass and beautiful amongst all the pressure and conflict, that being said, she cannot always maintain a perfect composed self, so naturally, we do get to see her weaknesses and flaws, which I think only makes her character better. I also love that she, though caring for the main character dearly, still hold her own morals/goals true to herself and will not abandon them for the sake of him. The main characters themselves are very well written. Though they both are hell-bent in getting revenge, we do see the policeman falter a bit, as he makes new relationships and is aware that he will have to give that all up for the sake of avenging his love one. Not gonna lie, the ending had me bawling at 3am, it was so heart-breaking and precious, it couldn't have ended in a more meaningful way. The story is a great read in the sense of mystery, action, tragedy and character growth (if you know me, you will know that character development is a theme I absoulutely adore). Every character is not without his/her own depth when needed, some have tragic backstories in which they are very pitiful while others may not have it, but still there actions are realistic, as lets be honest, not every criminal has a terribly sad reason to do what they do. The story is easily binge-able and worth the check out at least, if it's not for you, it's not for you. But I reccommend checking it out anwyay, since if you do end up liking teh first few chapters and continue to read it, you will most likely regret not reading it sooner.
