Boh series are realistic and modern LGBT+ representations.

The two of them focus on high school characters going through heavy emotions, expressive and detailed artwork and a very emotional plot everyone can relate to.

porque no tratan los temas lgtbq como un chiste. son realistas en tratar de plasmar los sentimientos de todos los personajes, hablando no solo del amor y la amistad si no de tambien la busqueda de la identidad en una etapa como la adolescencia.

Both are queer, heartbreaking, slice of life mangas. They both discuss the harships of being gay in Japan, accepting yourself, loss of loved ones, and friendship.

Boy Meets Maria

Boy Meets Maria

Taiga dreams of becoming an actor, so the first thing he does upon entering high school is join the drama club. There, he meets the beautiful, enigmatic Maria and immediately falls in love with her. Not long after, Taiga is told that she is actually a boy–but is that all there is to Maria’s story? This beautifully illustrated one-volume tale, the debut work of creator PEYO before their untimely passing in 2020, explores the layered nature of personal expression and the fluidity of the power of love.

both are heart thouching stories about queer youth finding them selfs and a place they belong.

the characters of both manga exhibit a depth that defies attempts at easy classification. Both stories explore how characters confront and deal with emotional trauma by learning to understand themselves and others. While each manga-ka has their own style, with Boy Meets Maria maintaining its grounding in physical space where Our Dreams at Dusk is more whimsy, both have breathtaking visual styles that are memorable and take you through the story again and again.

they have similar artstyles, the sad and melancholic vibes and the power to destroy your life while being beautiful and amazing mangas.

Seeing Yamato in a new light, Yuji does his best not to let prejudice color his view, but he still finds himself overthinking his classmates' interactions now. He especially notices the way Yamato looks at one particular boy: Yuji's own best friend. Even though he tells himself he shouldn't get involved, Yuji finds he just can't help it; watching Yamato's one-sided love draws him in a way he never expected. At first, it's empathy, knowing that the boy Yamato has his sights on is definitely straight and has no idea. But as his own friendship with Yamato develops and the two of them grow closer through a mutual study group, Yuji comes to truly care about Yamato as a person, regardless of his sexuality. He only wants Yamato to be happy, and to be able to express his true self.

Totally recommended. One of my favs along with Smells like Green Spirit.

Both are short coming of age stories. One follows a trans boy while the other follows a gay boy as they grow into becoming comfortable with themselves that doesn't involve a romance

These stories are both heartwrenching and well written accounts about teenagers in the lgbt community. I highly recommend reading one if you liked the other.

Is Love the Answer?

Is Love the Answer?

When it comes to love, high schooler Chika wonders if she might be an alien. She's never fallen for or even had a crush on anyone, and she has no desire for physical intimacy. Her friends tell her that she just "hasn't met the one yet," but Chika has doubts... It's only when Chika enters college and meets peers like herself that she realizes there's a word for what she feels inside--asexual--and she's not the only one. After years of wondering if love was the answer, Chika realizes that the answer she long sought may not exist at all--and that that's perfectly normal.

Lastly, "Yui" is an antagonistic boy who adopted the persona of his older sister after her death. In contrast to Parou and Marika, Yui is sorely disappointed at the meeting.

Gay coming of age stories. Both of these manga follow young men questioning and discovering their sexuality. While there are trials along the way, the endings are happy. Both of these series should resonate with younger people still discovering themselves and older people looking for some high school nostalgia!

Cat Street has non of the themes stemming from queer identity, but it's very similar in a lot of respects: it focuses on a high school student who really doesn't know where they belong. One finds comfort in a lounge by a mysterious person called Anonymous frequented by many different queer identities, along with elders who are in many ways parental figures. In Cat Street, the mysterious head of the school provides a place for lost teenagers, so-called stray cats, to find a place to find themselves. And as the main characters graduate from high school, they take over the school to guide the next generation of "stray cats".
