Our Dining Table is what I typically look for in a one shot; a beautiful story that captivates me from start to finish. Even though it has been a few months since I have read it, it's memorable enough to be on my mind all the time. It was so easy to fall in love with this story, and want to get to know the characters inside and out. Being able to see so much growth in such a short time and it not feel rushed, but feel right; I admire the author for how well they were able to do this. I completely recommend this series with all of my heart, it's a wonderful story with tons of depth but at the same time has lighthearted moments that make you feel so deeply for the characters. A wonderful manga to add to your collection!
(This is my first review so I hope this isn't horribly and sorta helpful)
This was such a sweet and wholesome read! This manga revolves around themes of loss and belongingness through food. As a very family-oriented person and a huge foodie, this was a very enjoyable read for me
This is such a wholesome manga if you exclude both Yutaka and Minoru's pasts.
Story: Yutaka is a man who is no good at eating with other people. One day, at a park, he meets a little boy named Tane. After eating one of Yutaka's rice balls, Tane tells him that they're the best. Then Yutaka meets Tane's older brother Minoru, and that's how the soon-to-be couple met.
Art: A wholesome art style for a wholesome manga.
Characters: We have Yutaka, a rather straightforward, shy man. Then we have Minoru, a delinquent-like young man who has a tsundere vibe to him. And last but not least, we have Tane, an adorable little boy who brought these two together.
Overall: 3.5/5 stars
I really liked this manga, especially the last chapter when we see Tane all grown up.
Our Dining Table is a cute, relaxing, and beautiful story. It's almost like a comfort manga with easy to love characters and friendly atmosphere. The way the main characters interact is touching and it makes the heart feel whole. Storyline and pacing is also great. Definitely unforgettable.
