I really like the story and characters So far (on ch.13). The art and story pace is pretty good/standard for a romance/ Slice of life, but they do a Couple of new/interesting things that are the reason I decided to read the story. 1. It has a male Mc which I don't see a lot of in this kind of story, and it didn't feel like they drastically changed the kind of story it is just because he's a guy, I've read a lot of shoujo with a simular even if not identical feel, but it's still clear that the Mc is a guy, he's well written even if he's not SUPPER complicated. 2. I have never really liked how manga will act like a female character insulting and even attacking the male character constantly for no reason and he's not even defending himself is cute or funny, even more so if there friends or family that's abuse, and I'm glad they called it out for what it is. These kinds of story's don't often talk about abuse and when they do its a one-four chapters mini plot. For a female Mc to be saved by love intrest. 3. I like how the story is approaching this kind of abuse and how his life is now that he has broken up with her, it feels really realistic for every positive or negative thing that happens it clearly shows how and why it's happening. Abusive ex knows he is cute so she go's out of her way to make him not look as attractive and tells him that he's not, so he hides his face when he stops hiding every one thinks he's cute. It makes sense,  He didn't Just magically become attractive he was always attractive, Plus it's pretty realistic to how actual abuse happens. They often start dictating how you look In order to control you and isolate you and lower your self-esteem. Same with him makeing friends and Doing well in sports. All of them were things that he could do but didn't because of his Abusive ex, And all of them are things commonly done by abusers, they isolate you, they get in the way of friends, family, school, career, hobbies. Convincing you and everyone else that you're bad at these things, that your lesser than and should be grateful that they're dating you. And when things don't go the abusers way they retaliate thay insult you, attack you or they start trying to make things difficult for you, and if not you directly then indirectly like friends. They never admit that there wrong unless it's to try and manipulate you. 4. And I like how the the new romance is developing, like they really are friends that can be something more. 5. I like how it doesn't seem like he'll get back together with her, and I really hope it stays that way. That's one of the bad thing about these kind of stories They sometimes get back with the ex when they shouldn't.
