Both of these manga are about a character with knowledge of the future attempting to prevent another person from dying.

Nitequil Nitequil says...

They both hold a strong message of being thoughtful of those around you since you never know who will be gone in the future. Both plots also involve changing the past to make the future different.

sebuchan sebuchan says...

I like them both because their story revolves around time travelling. The only difference is that how they approach the time traveling topic. Orange tackles about saving a young boy from suicide and giving him a reason to continue living. This manga and anime focuses more on regrets of not telling someone that you love him or her before leaving the world. That is the reason why shoujo manga readers love it. On the other hand, Erased tackles more of saving a young girl from being killed intentionally. This manga revolves around the mystery of the disappearance of this young girl which makes it way more interesting to both viewers and readers. As you progress in the story of Erased you will find yourself indulging in mystery and cannot find a way out of it. This series made my heart pound including that savage ending. Anyway, if you like time travelling series with a touch of romance you should watch and read ORANGE but if you like time travelling with a touch of mystery you should go for ERASED. :) :)

These two both gave me a sob fest and both include a coming of age story. They both revolve around harsh times and wanting to make amends for what happened in their early years.

From what I know about Orange I think it is reasonable to recommend both it and A Silent Voice to one another. Both stories are emotional with dramatic subject matter that is deeply relational. Regrets. Mistakes. Could have. Should have. Withdrawal and isolation. The slow but nurturing warmth of human relationships. The courage to foster relationships and to be involved with another person's life. These are things you will encounter in both Orange and A Silent Voice. I know A Silent Voice tells its story and subject matter beautifully. I understand Orange to be similar too. Oh, and Orange does have a supernatural element of time-travel. Very poignant for Orange's subject matter.

FlanPrinceRose FlanPrinceRose says...

Both Orange and A Silent Voice are dramas, though Orange has romance playing a more prominent role than A Silent Voice did.

These series both had a stong emphasis on mental health and the importance of friendship. Both series had at least one main character who was isolated, but ended up making friends. Characters in both grapple with their own self-loathing and better themselves. The theme of finding something to live for is also present in both Orange and A Silent Voice.

Both manga have very similar themes and story lines

- Both are stories in which the girl saves the guy

- Both in which are slice of life stories, which are kind of nostalgic in a way

- If you are bummed out about Ao Haru Ride ending I garuntee Orange will not let you down.

EastIsEarly EastIsEarly says...

Both series feature a strong group of friends who care deeply for eachother, who all make a particular effort to help one of their depressed friends. Both have love triangles in which the characters deal with their emotions in a mature and caring way, taking into account both their love interest and their rival's feelings. Both explore melancholy and the different ways people might view the world, and why. Blue Spring Ride is a bit more lighthearted with lower stakes, while Orange goes deeper into the mature/psychological side.

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it because they both definitely give me the same vibes. And not to mention the fact that the storylines are so similar. Both feature a group of friends who experience a time travel like phenomena where they have the chance to change tge past.

Glassblower45 Glassblower45 says...

Both works are 6 volumes or less, making them relatively easy reads. These two stories do both involve high school reunion classmates returning to an important time in their high school years. Where Orange and Those Summer Days readers may find interest in each other is their vibe of the weight of both consequences and of serious events that happened once before. These works pull you into a drama that explores the weight of behaviors and decisions over the years as we get older.

Orange is already known as a work that will move its readers with its subject matter and characters. While I don't know much about Those Summer Days, what I have heard places this work on a similar story path as Orange, just with a different set/angle of troubles to face or tackle.

Nana is a little more bitter while Orange is a little sweeter, but I think if you liked one you'd like the other, because both are love stories with sad undertones, again Nana a little more so than Orange. Both include love triangles, conflicting emotions, and lots of regrets, but they both also have happy moments, heartwarming moments.

For some reason, I think these two have the same feel. Something about being hung up over a death and the desire to save someone from themselves is similar.

Both Hello World and Orange are in the romance and sci-fi genre. And both revolve around a character where their 10 years in the future self helps their past high-school self in preventing an accident that happens and saving their loved one, changing the future in where they are happy together.

They both also have an anime adaptation as well if you're an anime before book person.
