Yiyoung is building a startup with his college friends. They get a chance to present their proposal to SJ Corporation, one of the leading companies in the country. But in the meeting room he sees Kang Daehyung, the extremely handsome company big shot that's so very much his type, and Yiyoung's heart starts to race...! Can pretty-faced Yiyoung win both in love and his career?
This webtoon is really amazing so far. I have reread it 6 or 7 times over the course of its syndication. I can't wait to see what happens next! Reading the scenes between Mr. Ahn and Director Kang really are relatable for anyone who's ever had a crush on someone they felt was outside of their league. The love scenes are also very well done and aren't rushed. Definitely recommend this for anyone who loves yaoi! You'll leave with a crush on both guys.
I just read the last chapter of this and it solidified On Or Off as one of my favourite BLs. This is a SPOILER FREE review. The story is about a college student named Yiyoung who is making a start up company with his friends. As their first project, they apply to a company seeking a creative advertisement to appeal to younger people. Yiyoung is the one extrovert of the group, so he's the one responsible for giving the proposal presentation to the company's board of directors. Unfortunately, his laptop betrays him and updates during his timeslot, causing him to lose the opportunity. Yiyoung is determined to get a second chance, so when he coincidentally meets Director Kang Daehyung in a bar, he begs him to listen to the proposal. Director Kang, who just got broken up with, assumes Yiyoung is there to persuade him to accept the proposal with a sexual favour. Though it wasn't Yiyoung's intention, he ends up sleeping with Director Kang. After, when director Kang returns to his office and sees Yiyoungs proposal, he realizes it's actually amazing and he hires Yiyoung's company. Though their relationship begins with a misunderstanding, the two characters gradually learn about each other and they grow closer and closer... I especially love this story because the relationship between Yiyoung and Director Kang is healthy and built on mutual respect. They have their dramatic miscommuniactions but actually talk about their feelings. I really like how the author shows how they both simp for each other. I read the mature version of the story and I can say that the sex scenes were mind-numbingly good. They feel so intimate and romantic. There is also a fair share of comedy, from the main couple and the supporting cast. Overall, the story is well-crafted. It has its heavy and dramatic moments but remains lighthearted and wholesome. I definately reccommend it! There are 91 chapters in the Mature version. I read it on Tappytoon.
When I first saw the art I was %100 the artist was the same as the one from Cheeze in the Trap (I dislike that manga). I checked and it wasn't, I'm a bit relieved. The story is pretty grueling in the first 25 chapters but after that, I could tolerate second-hand embarrassment. Also, the art is oddly satisfying despite the peachy, yellowish color they make everyone's' skin tones. I did drop it the first time because of the art but I had to give it a second chance. It has a good rating and I couldn't pass up a might-be masterpiece. The characters are pretty funny, realistic. And the seme was an asshole, in the beginning, a sexy asshole. He gets better. Overall, I don't regret picking this up again. If I could change anything I would tone down the second-hand embarrassment and color the panels a more clean, clearer color.
