Beautiful art, but the story was so uneventful and pointless that I actually didn't even finish the first book - I can't remember the last time I didn't at least finish the first volume of a series.

The art is truly spectacular; the characters are all beautifully designed and very pleasant to look at. However in my opinion the story and the characters really dragged the whole manga down.

I'm not quite sure whether it is the author's fault or the scanlators' but I found it hard to make sense of things. And when I did, I really didn't care. The story dragged on and went nowhere; in fact, there really didn't seem to be a plot. Sometimes purposeless manga work, but it definitely did not in this case. I was extremely bored and constantly checked how far I was to the end so I could put the end to my misery.

But I somehow managed to slog through the chapters despite wanting to drop it ASAP but man, it was 10 chapters too long. It should have been an one-shot; in that case I would have been much lenient on the story and more in awe of the art.

Now that I look back on it, probably the only reason I put myself over such torture (aside from the fact that I am now apparently a masochist) was the art. I couldn't stop because that meant giving up the pretty pictures and bishies.

I still recommend you to give it a try, even if it's just to get an experience of the art. And who knows, maybe you'll even find yourself liking it. I know that I didn't, at the very least.

God damn, Olympus has possibly the best art I have seen in any manga. You saw the cover image right? It is all just as beautiful as that. It's so beautiful, you can almost forget how completely lacking this series is in every other way. Almost.

So, a guy named Ganymede is kidnaped by the god Apollo (oh yeah, this is based on Greek myths. If the name Olympus wasn't a big enough clue) and forced to live in a garden for eternity. Actually sounds pretty good, right? It probably would have been had the plot not been semi abandoned for some random stuff that doesn't even really fit in the original premise. Stories end suddenly and unresolved in favour of some random new thing vaguely based on the same characters, so the whole thing felt as if it never really progressed at all.

The characters aren't even that good, so it's not like they can carry the manga. Ganymede practically feels like he has no personality; Apollo is vaguely interesting in moments, but goes back to being pretty dull pretty quickly; and Hades seems like he could be interesting but hardly shows up. Some of the side characters actually seemed ok, but given they only showed up for one or two chapters, they didn't really impact anything.

The whole thing is a beautiful mess. The story is shambles, but holy crap does it look good. If you don't actually care about the story, just the art, then this is perfect for you, but if you want a decent story, this is definitley not the one for you.
