Hotel (the one shot, included in the compilation manga also known as Hotel) is my favorite manga of all time and the manga that got me into manga, so any recommendation I make to it is the highest compliment I can possibly give to a title. Hotel and Noru start in a similar fashion - humanity has fallen and is about to become extinct. The protagonist (Louis the supercomputer from Hotel, or Noru and the visitor in Noru) then tries to preserve whatever aspect of humanity they can so that if a future generation is born in the future, they will have a record of what came before them and be able to survive.
They are both very short (Hotel's one shot even more so) and very moving. If you liked one please read the other.
