In the beginning, it really takes time for the female lead to grow on you because she really is the cause of a lifetimes worth of second hand embarrassment. But I have hope that she will learn to be independent and grow as an individual without basing her entire self worth off of a partner. The art is really pretty and the chararcters are roughly developed. The plot so far has been very mediocre, but we'll see what happens becuase there's room to enforce a more cohesive storyline.

Many readers may drop stories with annoying main characters after a few chapters, and understandably so. I remember not being able to get past the fifth chapter of Heroine Shikkaku despite multiple tries and no matter how positive the reviews were because Hatori was just so... ugh.

However, there is something about New Year's Taste that made me binge through it no matter how self-absorbed Gong In-joo was at the start. Mind you, she was infuriating for more than 10 chapters. But unlike Heroine Shikkaku, I was strangely hopeful of In-joo's character development.

Going through all the secondhand embarrassment I felt from In-joo's poor decision-making, I was finally rewarded after the fake dating arc. In-joo finally started realizing and addressing her mistakes. I just didn't really like how they made her ex Geurim to be the villain by the end in an attempt to somewhat justify her past behavior. I think In-joo simply acknowledging her mistakes and working on to be a better person would have sent a better message.

Overall, I found this manhwa really refreshing. In real life, there are really people who don't have admirable principles at the get go and really need a lot of character growth. I would have loved to see more backstories or story arcs, but overall, it was a good story to binge on. It restored my faith in annoying main charcter trope. Maybe... just maybe, I'll give Heroine Shikkaku another try.

Fun fact: In the epilogue, the author admitted that she was planning to make In-joo more annoying, but was cautioned by her editors. If she was more annoying than how she was portrayed in the story, this review may have gone a different direction.

Tbh i don't really know about rating, as long as i like it, i wont mind giving 10/10 really subjective

Ok at the beginning of the story, you will get irritated because of the FL behaviour and because she is really childish, but later she will get a really good character development, for me it was worth the time

Ohh also i really like the art

Thanks For Reading

It's not a complicated story with simple details and few characters but I enjoyed it tho . The characters development is really amazing and admirable. I like the way the story is progressing and  the logic dialogues , it's refreshing. I don't like dating younger men but he seems adult enough so it is okay. The MC character is adorable and cute. I didn't feel bored at all although the progress was slow a little bit. The art is expressive and good . I recommend it.
