Follows Gen, a boy who sought a peaceful lifestyle and decides to enroll in a high school in the rural countryside. He moves into his new home, a temple owned by a relative. There, he lives with a girl three years older than him named Chion. While she seems to have it together, she is actually careless.
UPDATE: Now read up to 53 chapters (11/30/2020). This mangaka is masterful at slow, steady build ups. It's just a little slower than some people might like. But you can tell with each passing chapter that the characters are just becoming ever so slightly less subtle about their feelings. Still wholesome, enjoyable, and cute to read. Just made the recommendation, but if you like this kind of thing, you'll also like the mangaka's current work, Insomniacs After School. --------- NOTE: Review written @ 18 chapters read. Will update as I read more chapters. All in all, a nice, peaceful read with mostly cute and some hints of romance. Honestly, this manga seems like it should also be tagged "Iyashikei" as well. It's relatively a peaceful manga, pretty cute, and talks about the daily life of a young guy with his childhood friend / "nee-san" at their temple. There's not a ton of drama so far, and while it might be slow-moving for some folks, if you really just take the time to admire the artwork and really get into the emotions and how characters interact with each other, I think you'll have as good of a time as I'm having. Definitely would not recommend to someone looking for something serious, or for something hot and heavy or hard-hitting.
