Naruto Gaiden: Michita Tsuki ga Terasu Michi will tell the story of Mitsuki, one of Boruto's teammates.
A prequel to the Boruto series. Mitsuki wakes up in Orochimaru's laboratory with feir memories missing and is told a backstory for how fe came to be there. And as any Naruto readers know, that by itself seems suspicious, 'cause it's Orochimaru. So there's a very compelling tension created as we wonder how much of what Orochimaru is saying is truthful and how much is an attempt to manipulate Mitsuki; we're trying to piece together what Orochimaru's intentions might actually be and what fe's trying to accomplish. There's all this build-up. And manipulation. And embryo-talk. And then it contained a picture of Boruto--how the hecken does that make sense? First of all, why did Mitsuki even take the scroll? Secondly, why wouldn't fe just interpret the contents of said scroll (especially these contents) as an attempt by Orochimaru at manipulating fem? I dunno, for an "elaborate act," this felt like it didn't actually coalesce very well.
