Everything is very good over all in this light novel. This was my first light novel ever, and is a very good place for you to start reading light novels. If you like Magi this is surprisingly similar, but because you get to read about Rudy and his entire life you will feel bonded with him after time. Also you may find yourself sporting a spiffy after reading of the kinky sex scenes ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). I dont know what else to say so i will leave an encrypted message for you to decode here:

I read volumes 4, 5 and 6 and that's probably where I'll stop.  It is well written and there is character development but its irratic story telling.  You have 3 chapters with a plot and then a chapter concering something later on or eariler that has happend.  One chapter will tell the story from Rudy's view and then the next chapter will tell the same story from someone elses view.  Its not my cup of tea, I like my stories to progress naturally.  Some of the interpting stories are quite good but some of them are boring.  He's also not to good at hiding suprises.  It pretty easy to guess who a mystery person is or which character is going to pop up later and save the day.  If you like choppy story telling then this is for you.  I will keep following the Anime as I'm sure they will drop a lot of the side stories.

Since the series finished I decided to take another stab at it and read volume 7.  Again it jumps around and retells stories from another view.  But this volume has a big section about Rudy's sexual ability.  I wouldn't mind a mention of it and move on but it has chapters about it.  I think I am really finished this time.

Mushoku Tensei is a magical light novel. It may feel like your typical isekai but there's something about it that will ttell you it's not.

Every trope in this light novel is handled with care that you would not believe for anime in this era. It doesn't feel like reading a story, it feels like experiencing a world. My problem with light novel has persistently been main characters that are so dimwitted it'd take less time for light from the sun to reach us, and boring writing. I'll touch on the first part later but I can certainly vouch for Jobless Reincarnation's writing.

There has never been a moment where you feel like nothing is progressing, or nothing is happening. When there is, it is almost always acknowledged by the main character at some point. Everytime you think it's over, something else happens and the story is always moving forward. (Maybe the fact I have to praise this just shows the deplorable state of the isekai genre now ( ╥ω╥ ) ) The action makes a clear picture in my head and it's easy to understand what's happening, nonetheless read.

Main character is a scumbag. Everybody knows it. It's literally the entire premise of the plot. You may be a scumbag, you may carry trauma, but in the end you must keep moving. Life waits for no one. Honestly, the harem really just ups the fact he's deplorable, just bolstering the moral of the novel. Though I generally hate harems (Is it so hard to just choose one girl or say no?), the harem here cancels out any complaints I could have had. He, the MC, obviously doesn't understand romantic relationships so it isn't surprising when he ends up 3 wives. You can love multiple people at the same time (Please don't actually try this in real life though, it's probably not worth the effort. Even Rudy struggles with this multiple times, barely managing with the help of time travel).

The other characters are great. You can get a good grasp on everyone as a bystander and through other character's view. I don't understand Sylphy a lot which is concerning, but a personal problem I assume.

Ngl chief, story kinda stops hitting the spot. Up until the 2nd Dragon God encounter it was great. Started falling off for me since it hit the peak of my interests already. I won't say any spoilers but the interactions between characters was exceptionally great here.

Exceptional read. If you like isekai, this will change your view on the genre as a whole if you can get understand Rudy in the beginning. I don't suggest this as a first read, because it's better enjoyed after seeing something like Shield Hero or Arifureta.

This is my favourite read of all time , maybe cause the main character is so unique , mc is overpowered but is not overpowered and the turning points are just killer.

And most of all I Love Sylphy.
