"Classes" are given at the age of 10, and the presence or absence of "skills" greatly affect life. Arel, the son of "Sword Princess" Fara and "Magic King" Leon, has been branded as "Classless"... But even without a job or skills, Arel believes he can persevere through effort.
At ten years old, gods bestow upon people classes and class-related skills. Arel is told that fe is classless and as such, fe has no skills bestowed upon fem. However, Arel doesn't take this news badly and instead stoically decides that fe will have to make up for the difference through sheer effort. It's true that skills allow for instant knowledge, but you can still learn things through hard work and practice. But this "you can do it!" attitude is entirely unheard of in this world--everyone other than Arel lives constrained by the classes assigned to them and don't imagine a scenario where they would train in areas not related to their class (since that would be inefficient). They are put into a box and they stay within that box. Again and again, this manga hammers home the idea that even if people label you a certain way and have certain expectations for you, you can go beyond that and live your life how you want to. Even if you don't have skills bestowed upon you, you can develop skills on your own. Arel joins a guild called Black Blade in the city of swordsmen. This was once a powerful guild in the city, even being the home to Arel's "Sword Princess" mother, but nowadays it only has a bum of a guildmaster and two fighters--Lilia and Raina. This is a story of how Arel will lead this guild on a meteoric rise back to having high influence and respect within the city, through tournament duels between fighters from various guilds. It's also a story of a dead-eyed man attracting a harem. [Reviewed at chapter 10]
MC overpowers his way through most of the challenges he faces, if you like those types of stories this is a good one to read. It's on the lighter side you won't see him carving through armies with limbs and blood flying everywhere tho. I like the MC and most if not all of the secondary characters. Again it's one of those stories where the MC easily overcomes any challenges that he encounters so if you don't like those stories I'd advise you to skip but for those who do like me, i recommend it, it's a fun read. 👍👍👍
