In both Korean webtoons, we have a dark-haired rich kid (the physical body of the protagonist in At the End of the Road) with "amnesia" who gets thrown into a situation where he has to figure out the motives of those around him. One of these ways is by viewing videos of his younger "self" to piece together the tragedies of the past.

Our protagonists in both are tough and discerning, not putting up with BS and not giving his trust readily to the shady blond who seems obsessed with him. The other male lead is a beautiful-in-a-dangerous-way tall blond with ties to the protagonist's past. The main character distrusts him but the blond guy is very attached, having lost him before, and welcomes every scrap of attention.

Flashbacks reveal why he is so completely devoted to the main character through their shared childhood/adolescence. The situation currently is a reversal of dominance from their childhood days. For important reasons, the main character does not remember or deliberately avoids bringing up the past that they had in common, choosing instead to treat the blond as a stranger that was introduced relatively recently.

I would whole-heartedly recommend fans of either series to read the other. Both have a dark atmosphere, a mystery of memories and identities and a similar level of non-explicit romantic content alongisde the gripping plot.

While Moritat seems more confusing structure wise, they both have somewhat similar main characters. And the fact that everything the other male lead is doing for them is out of love, of course.

Both are amazing and have a light boy love genre etc etc etc.... I love both and they have a similar feeling to each other while reading

the only thing that could give in common is that the protagonist somehow came back to life ... somehow. but the explanations for these events are completely different. morat is more psychological while at the end of the road it is more about bulling

Both are Korean BL webtoons with the puzzling mystery of an amnesiac hero trying to piece together the past and the present. (In Warehouse, the jury is still out on whether he is just forgetful or truly amnesiac). Our protagonist has the hunch that his captor is attempting to break him down bit by bit until he comes to depend solely on him. To survive his imprisonment, he must keep his sense of independence and understand the relationship he had in the past with is captor who is a well-built man of few words. Just what had the main character done that was so awful or captivating for his captor to be both wary and controlling?

These are stories of one-sided obsessive and possessive love to the point of insanity with repercussions many years later for both parties. The plot twists in these, especially Moritat, will mess with your mind. The flashbacks are of the mindscrew variety with unreliable narrators where at some point, they cause more questions than answers. WARNING: Warehouse has physical and sexual violence while Moritat doesn't have explicit content but still has the same dark themes.

//SPOILERS

Along the way, we see flashbacks to the younger versions of our main characters when the captor had been an innocent and vulnerable, yet psychologically unbalanced young man. Meanwhile, we start to see that our main character in flashbacks of all his selfish and manipulative glory, outside of the rosy-tinted lenses that the captor had of him when they were younger. Emotionally toying and playing around with others as if they were puppets - slowly, the reasons for the seme's twisted revenge scheme to destroy him are revealed along with the extent of his mentally unhinged state.

Deeply in love with his captive while inflicting disproportionate retribution for how the captive had played him for a fool in the past, the captor is a complicated, conflicted man. There is a strong current of hate-love feelings stemming from his love-at-first-sight encounter about at least a decade ago which had morphed more and more into hatred over the years of the power-imbalanced relationship. There is resentment for how the other party could have spurned him and cleanly ended the relationship at any time without regrets while he had everything to lose, including family approval on the line. The revenge is a chance to flip the situation and regain control where he had none before.

The question for the readers remain, had the captor's personality been twisted by how he had been treated in the past? ...Or had he always been veering close to the edge of insanity and life after being cruelly tossed aside by the love of his life had pushed him over the edge?

The Last Zombie

The doctor knows that he can't keep Dajeong hidden forever, just as he knows that Dajeong's questions about why he is "sick" will one day need to be answered. He slowly begins introducing Dajeong to the outside world, but things become more complicated when his undead patient begins to fall in love with him.

It both has experimentation in it, which seems to make the age appropriate story even better.  Even though one is zombies and the other is just memories and the Moritat experiment, they still fit very well together.

softsong softsong says...

Both are plot-heavy BL about the permutability of memories in a futuristic world close to our own and the ethical need to avoid such technology from falling into the wrong hands. Both have Western settings, reflected in character names and scenery. Our main character has lost his family and finds himself heir to a mysterious legacy. A suspicious would-be lover has moved in with him, claiming a dubious connection instead of the truth of their years-long estranged acquaintance. What ensues is a whirlwind ride about the secrets of the past and the conspiracies that continue to this day.

SPOILER//

There is a similarity of narrative structure as the mystery in both unfold slowly at first in real-time before pulling the rug from under our feet and throwing an alternative perspective through the prolonged exposition of the mysterious other lead. There is anger from our amnesiac protagonist for being lied to and being experimented upon. Any romantic feelings are complicated by the circumstances. At their core, Moritat and Koujitsusei no Tobira are more mystery thriller than romance.

The man in charge of the house manipulates the memories of the other out of longing and revenge for a relationship gone sour. It is an indirect revenge without the victim's recognition of whatever happened in the past - futile and unhealthily stuck in the past. Love is mixed with hate for their insincerity and the strength of his feelings not being returned in full.

SPOILER//

The outcome is very similar between the two with the seme eventually undoing his mental manipulations. There is recognition that he had fallen into a rut of continuing a toxic "game" that had been over a long time ago already. At the end, there is separation as they mull over whether love can balance out what has happened. Both let go of the past to start their relationship afresh and avoid the trap of repeating old mistakes.

The latter half of both series resemble each other. Korean webtoon BL with power imbalances, mutual manipulation, attempted revenge, and lovers without trust trying to move on from their past to salvage what's left of this relationship.

Both are psychological and involve past/revenge/memories

While Moritat is a Shounen-ai that barely can be seen as a BL, Escape into Oblivion has a lot of Yaoi scenes and relies way more on the romantic relationship.

I can't say much without spoiling, so if you want a BL with very deep characters it's worth checking it out. The characters have a very complex backstories and mindsets.

Both of them are great, even Moritat being quite confusing and requiring a lot more attention to the details, Escape into Oblivion immediately reminded me of this Manhwa, because of the characters psychological dynamics.
