Moriarty the Patriot - Reviews

Where should I start? If you love the Sherlock Holmes or detective stories or even stories of a villain this is definitely something you can read. This story focuses on the early life and the motives of Moriarty and how he meets Sherlock and what happens after. Overall every chapter is a joy to read. The characters are interesting and each has such complex motivations you can't help but cheer for them. With that comes a lovely art style and a great plot that rehashes the Sherlock stories and makes them even better than before. I highly recommend this manga and my only hope is for more people to read it and see why it's great! So why are you reading this when you could be reading it! :D

I don't think many would agree with this but, I think the manga started off great until chapter 55, **spoiler** where Sherlock and William fell in the river **end of spoiler**, after that the story becomes so unrelated to the original plot, to the point where it got really boring to me and unreadable. This really bothers me because I was such a huge fan of this work, I loved how the story was portrayed in Moriarty's POV instead of Sherlock Holmes. And as you can tell from my profile  I'm a huge fan of this version of Sherlock Holmes. I really recommend the anime over the manga, since it ended properly and the ending was satisfying as well. The only down point that some scenes are poorly animated but other than that it's perfect, and a great show to put your time in if you're interested in crime, mystery, and detective genres. Hope this helps :)

I feel that the author wasn't really allowed to end the manga and was forced to continue with it because of money purposes?

Honestly, I might be biased when I say this BUT this manga is a masterpiece! Clear yet developed plot, great character design & development. I've seen people comparing this to Deathnote but this is entirely different, specially the way of thinking. William knows what he's doing and is actually doing for the people.

And it in fact, worked out just as he planned, people did change! The continuation of the story where they repent on their actions (still on going) with the help of Sherlock and those who are close to them. Special points for the 3 brothers for always sticking together through thick and thin <3

Just one word. MINDBLOWING!!I JUST DON'T KNOW HOW TO PUT MY EMOTIONS IN WORDS TO DESCRIBE JUST HOW INCREDIBLE THIS IS!! AND IDC ABOUT ANYBODY'S OPINION!!! MY SHERLEY AND LIAM ARE BOTH IN LOVE OKAY?!! THE TENSION IS TOO THICK TO NOT BE THE TENSION BETWEEN ENEMIES TO LOVERS!!! 

It's a nice on the other side plot.

As time goes on however, the atmosphere turns vague real quick and real initial intentions are blocked, faded even. 

Also, the vintage area the authors visualize starts to expand modern and idk if it's a bright idea.

what is sherlock and holmes relationship? No clue. friends, partner, rabbit and mouse chase?

This manga as it grows will be hard to close, it's expanded so much that many will most likely not prefer the ending and it's outro to Moriarty the Patriot will be filled dull. 

However, all that aside it's a brilliant manga, i don't think it was the right time to release this genre tho, as a popular theme for spring animes is very fantasy-reincarnation rn. However if the authors turn that to the advantage; aka use it's one of a kind in 2020-2021 knowledge, i believe i'd rate it more than a 7.5
