I really enjoy these older mangas, they're more special, and each are unique works without the larger influence of other series. Like this one per say.  Seira the mermaid made a promise to a witch in order for a pair of legs, as she fell in love with a human and wished for a prosperous ending with such soul. Her romantic feelings allowed her to sacrifice her fellow kind, only for Seira to meet a tragic fate and put earth itself in jeopardy. Jimmy, Seira's child, has traveled to earth along with his two siblings to lay eggs and rekindle the community. However when Jimmy loses his memories in an accident, his goal is now being ambused with countless obstacles, including forbidden love. Once Jimmy shifts into the women Benjamin however, her prospects seem reachable but at what cost?  (Sorry if this sounds rough, it's 2 am for me.)  Some of this could seem wrong, like 'having romantic attraction towards someone who appears ten years old (they're not but still).'  Or the liking someone who likes someone else who's using that person for their assets. Something to be mindful of. Also the story can be a bit confusing, so if you're in the mood for dechipering, you're in luck!  I will note, that whilst the characters are defined, they kind of have their alters and stick to that. For example, "Jimmy" cries endlessly, and is quite dramatic. She doesn't exactly learn or grow at all, so these actions can get repetetive.
