Mitama Security and Samon the Summoner are both supernatural comedies involving a wacky guy attaching themselves to an unwitting girl, with the most striking resemblances lying in the character designs of the main characters. Where Mitama Security's Mitama is a ghost-hunting wimp with a strange ability, the titular Samon the Summoner is a bit of a jerk with an interest in demons. Conversely, Rena of Mitama Security is the "normal" to Mitama's "abnormal" and is plagued by spirits constantly glomming onto her. Teshigawara of Samon the Summoner has a strong helpful streak, and acts as the "angel" to Salmon's "demon".
