The title says it all. It’s a very short and wholesome story about little daemon princess girl, who summons a young boy to be her friend. There is a catch, the boy doesn’t speak any language of this world and there is no magic to give him that ability. The series does not present any fake language, but shows only intangible gibberish, when inhabitants of this world speak and most communication has to be nonverbal [1]. It manages to pull it off with well thought gestures and facial expressions. It goes for the as much as it is necessary level of detail instead of making almost everything to maximum perfection. The story is told from the viewpoint of the boy. Towards the end the connection to past makes things bit unnecessarily complicated. I didn’t understand what was the point of hero party constantly venturing into the castle. Overall, it was decently enjoyable, sweet, bit funny, romantic and generally wholesome. Given the settings and characters there wasn’t much to expand upon further. I’ve read it during single working day. Japanese difficulty 5/10 (see my profile for details about various difficulty scores) The series contains average vocabulary and rarely more difficult words. It does contain furigana for every word. It’s suitable for those who need some hand-holding to read kanji. This review is written after reading all 4 volumes. Spoilers [1] Later on, it’s revealed there is someone, who somewhat can speak “the language of living god”.
