Mahoraba is a manga that I stumbled upon on accident on MangaFox after hearing some good things about it from other members. I had been in a rut of reading super fighting, shonen manga and wanted a change of pace so I decided to give this a shot.

The overall presentation of the manga is absolutely amazing and I soon found myself sucked into the story and unable to leave. The characters are all very likeable and are explored to show why they act the way they do. The whole cast for the most part are always together and that helps with the comedy aspect of the manga. It has a very slap-stick style humor (which when done correctly, I love) that works really well with the story. In the heart of this manga, it is a Slice of Life with overtones of Comedy and a heart of Romance. The developing love between Kozue and Shiratori is fun to enjoy as the awkward phase of teenage love is present. The drawings are very well done with my only gripe being that the characters appear too young. The cast for the most part are in the late teens (except for the older parent figures and one child) but they appear to be in early middle school. The length of the manga is a strong point as I do prefer a well explained lengthy manga. The best thing that this manga offers is the ending which I am not going to spoil but believe me, it is the best conclusion I have ever witnessed in any form of art and entertainment.

Overall if you are looking for a great slice of life manga with touches of comedy and a developing romance, then I strongly encourage you give this one a try. My favorite manga of all time :D

Enjoyment: 10/10

It's basically just good. Except of some point it is a normal romance

At the start i was not liking this i was like urgh again a tasteless romance but finally it is pretty good, i found myself surprisely become attached to some character. And i am happy i have not dropped the manga. Sometimes the drawing are beautiful and sometimes it's not so so. But it's have a really good drawer.

As always all the people find love and/or hapines. the main character jump each time a girl touch or hug him and it's funny because at the end SPOIL WARNING WARNING (he have 4 kid at the end).

If you like this kind of manga it's sure you will like this. I am agree with another review who said that sometimes it's look like an harem but it's not an ecchi

Now, don't get me wrong here. Excellent Manga, I would highly recommend reading it. You should read it. Right now. Go. Read.

But I am not writing a review just to tell you that, right? From my perspective of a reader after I had just finished it, I was thinking, "Yeah! 10/10! Excellent!" But If that truly was the case, why bother with a review? After some real thinking about it, I decided on a 7.7, but don't let this rating keep you from this truly great Manga. I write this review as a judge, to any and all Manga fans that actually bother reading reviews. Were I writing this as only a reader, There would be no need for all of this, just see the top line if you are looking for a non in depth review. Now then, on to the review. Kudos to you if you actually read any of that.

Story

Well... dissatisfied. That would be my ruling on this story. Of cource, a 8 is absolutly not bad, but it could be better. I seem to have read a majority of Mangas recently with a collage age boy in a Harem-like situation, in a girl filled dorm (Sekirei, Love Hina, etc. All of which I recommend.). I just think, other than Kozue's specific problem, (If that was any kind of spoiler for you, erase it from your memory.) this came off as a tiny bit of a cliche to me. Then again, of all the Mangas I count as cliche, this is the most original, with each character having their own backstory, and made this Manga almost... personal. Like I understood each character.

Art

As per my usual Manga belief, Art is always reader's preferance. I can't comment very much on Art, but I could give you my opinion on it, so here goes. I didn't love it. As others have said before me, most characters look to be lower middle school age, while the age is actually much higher. Other than that, The artist did well with expressions. When Saki-chan was being cute, she was cute. When Kozue was happy, she really looked happy, and the emotions were delivered well with the Art.

Characters

Now, this is going to be the toughest part, because as those who have finished this manga know, Mahoraba's characters have quite a unique situation. Fear not, however, no spoilers here! I liked the Characters very much. Personality was also a very distinct thing in this Manga, and was very well coordinated between the author and artist. I liked it, and don't have much else to say. A classic love story, I might say, we all know who the male lead will fall for the second they meet. I don't exactly favor those situations, but I almost always see them presented in a nice fashion.
