This Mage Desires Mediocrity

"No one will capture me!" Mizuki, a grown-up who loves gaming, is suddenly swept away to another world. She resolutely survives by using her inherent grit and magical talent. Then, two useless knights and one particularly kinky knight arrive on the scene. The appearance of so many disappointing hot guys marks the beginning of Mizuki's unprecedented, alternate-dimension life! Her chosen lifestyle involves nothing but "being herself!"

This Mage Desires Mediocrity is without a doubt one of my favorite female isekais up to date. The protagonist, Mizuki, takes zero shit from anybody. If you’re looking for a “female who gets shit done without the help of a powerful male lead” then you’ve come to the right place. The This Mage Desires Mediocrity is without a doubt one of my favorite female isekai mangas so far. Mizuki, our darling protagonist, is a grown woman who has been transported to another world. What makes her stand out to me is that she is the good guy… Who acts like a bad guy. Allow me to explain– She purposely lets people think she’s a terrible person all for the sake of her own benefits and earning a title that’ll strike fear into people. She commits what can be perceived as evil deeds and misconduct when in reality it’s mainly to rid the country she made an oath to protect of rotten apples such as a manipulative concubine and a rich spoiled brat trying to ruin a poor girls coming of age ceremony. And the best part? She holds zero remorse, not to mention her completely smug and confident demeanor through it all. She uses common sense and logic combined with her own knowledge of politics to come out victorious in every situation. Mizuki is THE boss who doesn’t take defeat for an answer from ANYBODY; she knows it, everybody knows it. And the people who don’t know it will soon know it. The VERY first page of the series starts off with her having just kicked a wild bears ass and then saving two knights in need– If that doesn’t get you hooked, I don’t know what will. Did I forget to mention that along with being a total badass, she’s engaged with 3 handsome men who she has on a leash? Each whos fallen for either her high intellect, combat prowess, supreme crasftmanship, or all of the above. They’re completely head over heels for her ability instead of her looks and that itself screams to me. I mean, to be honest I don’t blame them. Mizuki is wife material for sure, I’m right with them. 10/10, I recommend this to everybody.
