If you like Legend of Nereid or Red River, then you you will probably like the other. Both start with a girl being pulled out of their normal lives. Both have a historical sense and have powerful men as the love interest.

I couldn't stop thinking of Red River when I read Legend of Nereid. Both have strong female characters who have similar mind-sets and beliefs. There are a lot of internal political stuggles and war in both. They also have a similar cast of supporting characters, with coniving queens, a sweet love interest and a more forceful one, and a servent that is scary dedicated to his respective master. Legend of Nerid is the darker of the two titles and Red River has more fanasty, but both are great reads and you should enjoy one if you liked the other.

Both series feature a fairly normal girl falling in love with a war genius, somewhere in the past.

The strong-willed female lead, starting with boyish features, blossoms into a beautiful young woman and grows as a character. Love triangle.

Both mangas are similar with the characters struggle to fight for its people and freedom. Both main characters have to go through obstacles to survive in both love and war. They are destined or prophesized females who have to cover up their past and gender in order to survive in a world ruled by man. So if you liked Basara, I recommend Legend of Nereid (and vice versa).

Although Nereid is not that long and complicated as Basara, both manga are very similar. Both follow the story of a girl who is destinated to destroy the kingdom. Both girls should have been assasinated but survived, became stronger, started to think and act for themselves and slowly made the prophecy about them come true. Both manga are very romantic and tragic at the same time.

If you liked one, you'd surely like the other.

Both series feature an ordinary girl falling in love with a powerful warrior. They're both pretty typical of shoujo, but enjoyable.

The world is ruled by Yulia's prophecy, known as the Score. People believe in the coming “unprecedented prosperity” promised in the Score, never straying from the path set forth in the Score which will lead them to that prosperity. They look to the Score as revealed by the Order of Lorelei, the religion Yulia founded, and hold that the greatest virtue is to follow the Score faithfully.Yulia's Score tells of a young man who is necessary in order to bring “unprecedented prosperity.” His name is Luke fon Fabre. An heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Kimlasca-Lanvaldear, he was kidnapped as a child by the kingdom's enemy, the Malkuth Empire.
