David is what the supernatural crowd likes to call a “true believer,” a badge the teen wears proudly as he searches for the existence of all things scary and mysterious. When David, alongside his skeptical best friend Felix, are presented with proof that something terrifying may have landed right on their doorstep, the hunt for the Curse of Lalin is on - and life will never be the same again.
If you don't know where the official story is, it's here. Or you can search Lalin's Curse on Webtoon if you don't trust links. Also, I don't really review stuff, but since this had no reviews, I thought I should give a review so more people will give this manga a chance. I've read 45 chapters (Season 1) when this review was made. Characters First of all, I loved the characters! They all had unique personalities and I had laughed so many times seeing them interact with each other. I think this was one of the few mangas (Actually, just any form of entertainment) where I loved every one of the characters and wanted to see all of their stories. A bit of a warning though, a lot of characters are introduced really fast and is kind of overwhelming at first. Art I think art is more to particuler taste, so I won't really comment on how good it looks. The art was actually rather consistent in the manga, even when the artist went back to redraw the first three chapters. When scenes get creepy, the artist did a really good job of showing you the sense of dread. There are also some GIF panels in the manga which was really interesting since I don't see that a lot. (I don't think there are a lot of them though, maybe two or three GIF panels) Story To be harshly honest, I think the storyline looks to be intriguing, but season 1 was much too focused on setting the story up for season 2. Though, that doesn't mean season 1's story is bad. I think it was actually very good considering how many beginnings I've seen that are just painful to me. It was at a decent pace, though some scenes seeming a little slow. I have to say the best parts of the story was the plot twists. I loved how most of the plot twists had a way for you to figure it out, but it wouldn't be the first thought to come to mind. The story was also really good in drawing you in and every chapter leaving you wanting more. Overall, still a good story, just not the best of best to me. (Although, it's also pretty hard to please me in story section, so it may be partly my fault) Final Thoughts In the end, I still really love the manga and would recommend giving it a chance. (Really random, but I loved the eyes)
