Based on false charges, Felicia Swallows who was once admired as the perfect lady, hailed as, "Lady Rose," had her engagement with His Highness annulled and was chased out from both her home and school. Though the person herself only wants to live a rose-coloured commoner's life, there’s nothing but misunderstandings around her. This is the story of the characters from “Nation’s Saviour Lady Rose”, an otome game from her previous life, who disrupt her.
An interesting twist on classic otome isekai, Lady Rose wa Heimin ni Naritai has a decently large psychological factor that honestly triggered me and I couldn't handle it. Perhaps it's normal 'nobility' types of drama to most people, and it definitely has its funny moments and lovely art, but not my cuppa. I don't want to spoil, so I can't say much, but if you have triggers, maybe be wary of this one. That said, it's a good manga. I mean, it is a good manga. It's just not for me, I don't think.
It's your typical otome game plot and although it is different from the rest, it isn't more interesting than other manga of its category. As I was reading, I felt that the story was all over the place, and a bit bland in my opinion. I was a bit confused the first time I read this and dropped it, but when I decided to read again it didn't get any clearer. There's nothing special about the main protagonist and (to me at least) the story is moving very slow. It's very repetitive too. She meets a capture target, they talk which wastes two chapters, and then the next one comes. And there's nothing interesting going on, there is no plot, only 'Lady Rose living the life of a commoner.' I remember being absorbed in the story the first three chapters but then I kind of forced myself to read the rest. Also, the characters have the same typical personalities as those other otome game manga. But the art is nice to look at. :-D
