I dunno. I think the absurdity makes it difficult for me to latch onto and get invested in the goings-ons. The basic premise of the story reminded me of The Tell-Tale Heart, where a murderer experiences guilt-induced hallucinations because of the murder fe committed. The hallucinations in this particular case are related to the murderer seeing the people around fem having extended necks. But 'cause it's Junji Ito, the story doesn't just end with the hallucinations.
