Magnus is a mage who would always get orders barked at him by the Hero because he was deemed "useless". One day, after getting fed up with his party, he resigns. Upon leaving, he meets a merchant that sells him a mysterious book. As it turns out, this mysterious book written in the god's language was actually an ultimate "strategy guide" that had lots of useful information on how to defeat the Demon Lord! Thanks to that book, he is able to learn about boss monsters' weaknesses and raise his level more efficiently, on top of having data about important people (and the best food in any city) at his fingertips. By using his wits and scheming mind, he's even able to outclass the hero's party! With the ultimate encyclopaedia in his hands, he advances to the true route to defeat the Demon Lord!
It is a nice fantasy, adventure story which is healthy to read.Story starts with the mc who got kicked out from trash hero party when they deemed him as an useless sorcerer. Then he recieved a cheat encyclopedia of Gods from a merchant which he used to google any information that he wants about anything. The encyclopedia also keeps updating itself. The mc is also not too much OP but he becomes pretty strong with the help of the book.It has a pretty straightforward romance which develops within 1-2 chapters and it has no harem even with potential candidates. The mc is also not that naive and merciful. The stuff in the plot till now is a good read. The art is also enjoyable. There are also some decent fights where the mc uses his brain. Most of the characters are just mehh. There is not much to say except mc.But it is a good manga to recommend.
It starts well but the story is too rushed. It's like a brick wall missing the cement. As soon as he gets vengeance on his former group, there is this feeling of "okay so now what?". I realise the goal is to defeat the demon king, but it's so rushed that I feel nothing for the side characters, or even the action scenes. I will likely read for a bit longer, but ultimately drop this series.
