Hinako thought she didn't have any family, but on the day she starts high school, her twin brother Hikaru suddenly appears and tricks her into taking his place. But the new school Hinako attends in his stead is beyond unusual. Now she must fight her way to the top of Shishiku Academy, an all-boys school of delinquents!
For a manga based off a dating sim game there was deep character growth wow. I felt like I really got to know the boys. There are some unasnwered questions maybe another volume to tie everything together, but had a low expection knowing it based off a video game. Keep on kicking ass Hikaru!
OK OK OK I just atarted, And i'm posting a review to say that the guy who said the art was terrible definitely is blind, cause it looks amazing ! I'm already simping for the boys while I'm only at chapter 1 xD
The anime definitely doesn't do this manga any justice. Art The art is fantastic. You know those cute moments where the shoujo protag smiles and hearts are shot with an AK27? That's my shit, bro. It's my jam. This manga does that so well, I wanna die. Totomaru is my spirit animal. Story The story is an 8.5 because I realllly wish it were longer! Also, by the end of it, we don't get to see her beat any 3rd years, and at some points the fights kinda feel like cop-outs, since it's very conscious that she's a girl (at the very least, the anime made sure our heroine had plenty of fight scenes). Overall, I would rank this higher if only they had enough time and enough chapters to really give you a sense of wrap-up and completion to the story. I'd sooo read more if there were more. Such a shame. Characters Aside from that, the story is make-or-break by the characters - and I have to say, it was definitely made. The characters are lovable and the female lead wasn't annoying at all. They really got me rooting for childhood brother and first friend and I couldn't seem to pick between them because all of them are such good boyos. [SPOILER] I think the first friend might have the best chance??? That last chapter (chpt 7, which is translated in English, and chpt 8 which you can find raw) definitely had me rooting for him. Conclusion Either way, don't let the anime discourage you from reading this, because the anime defintely changed wayyy too much and left out all the details that really made this manga such an enjoyable read. The characters and their relationships are really fun and I definitely enjoy that slow pace of an immpending fight that just sorta--- happens.
