Both these mangas are in historical Japan with the protaganist becoming an exiled princess after their parent was murdered. Both stories have a lot of character development for these princesses as they grow up and learn how to be a proper ruler that can make the right decisions for their country. The princesses both have a male companion they have known for years that helps the princesses along the way and creates romance. The plots are pretty similar, but the characters are different. If you liked one of these, you should give the other a try

If you like Joou no Hana or Akatsuki no Yona you will most likely like the other as well because both are stories about royalty and in both the princesses are put in difficult and life threatening situations. Finally, both have that sort of love triangle thing going for them.

Both series are set in Japan's history, featuring a young girl who's heir to the throne and her loyal servant

In both Joou no Hana and Yona of the Dawn, the main characters, they were sadly forced into adulthood much sooner than planned. Each story carries a tale of two remarkable young women who strive to bring forth justice to not only themselves but for those around them, As they both feel that they were wronged (in one way or another) and try to prove that they are not the little girls that were carelessly tosses aside.

Both stories are great for coming-of-age for young women and speak to the hearts of maidens alike. Of course they also feature badass "sidekicks" that are always there to aid them when they need them.

the two stories are similar in the best ways. the two stories are different enough that you won't be bored if you read one and then the other.
