Takaya changes from someone depressed and unconfident in feir own abilities to being someone who seems to have endless self-confidence and cheery optimisim in the course of only a few months (or a single chapter in the manga). Chapter 4 does show Takaya struggling with feelings of Impostor Syndrome, and feeling desperate to prove femself, so it could be that the confidence fe exudes in other chapters is just a facade. Or there could be some other explanations that could explain the personality shift, but honestly it just comes across as lazy character-writing on the part of the author. I think the author wanted the changes to feel like the end result of a character arc--of a shift within Takaya's mental state that occurred after the shift in environment and the support provided by feir allies--but it doesn't come across that way...largely because the personality shift occurs immediately rather than incrementally. Takaya is also given far too much significance in chapter 5. And it's kinda boring seeing Takaya constantly succeeding in feir first attempts at making anything that fe attempts to make. It would be far more compelling storytelling if Takaya failed a few times and had to iterate on ideas and learn lessons. The harem aspect is shallow and almost entirely not worth it. I did enjoy the world-building to some degree and thought there was enough going on in any given chapter that it kept me moderately entertained. There's an inconsistency with the boldness of the outlines which can look okay in the backgrounds, but which looks bad on the characters. It draws attention to the outlines in a way that is more distracting than anything. The fingers are pudgy. The running and several of the other bodily movements are stiff. The faces are ugly and feel badly proportioned (especially when drawn from the side). The transparency of the face mask Takaya wears in the demon realm arc looks stupid and was a bad decision. The plants and backgrounds look pretty nice--they often have a wispy or spirally feel to them.
