Cid wants to be someone just like that more than anything, and something as insignificant as boring reality isn't going to get in his way! He trains in secret every single night, preparing for his eventual rise to power—only to denied his destiny by a run-of-the-mill (yet deadly) traffic accident. In both all characters around MC think he's the strongest and the most inteligent person when in reality he's just speaking useless stuff that happen to be true or through misunderstanding look like profound knowledge.

It's really similiar. An overpowered MC who wants to act cool. And caused by his acting skills everyone admires him as ag.n unbelievable strong bein

not that similar                                       but similar enough

theliongirl theliongirl says...

Both are hilarious comedies where the MC is just role-playing and manages to convince everyone else that they're some kind of mastermind. In the background there are secret societies and awesome fights, while the MC is totally oblivious because they're caught up in their self delusions.

thunderfangepic thunderfangepic says...

In both, the MC views the world completely diferently from all the other people. They have really funny stories.

bookeater18 bookeater18 says...

Both MCs are oblivious to their impact on others and have created what they believe to be a fictional world yet it hits the mark of those around him.

Senso3514 Senso3514 says...

3 reasons why i think they're similar1- Isekai2-The Mc is somewhat op3-People misunderstand him as a clever person even though he's just spouting basic stuff from the real world

Majster Majster says...

It's really similar. Both mc are OP but they don't clearly see it. They are embraced by mystery about their powers and plan (from others point of view), but in reality they don't even know about that or think about it like "yeah that was nice scene". About the world represented - both are magic worlds which are quite easy to understand how they works. Also secondary characters are well developed and the more important think THEY AREN'T ANNOYING. Summirazing both mangas are great comedies with interesting plot, so if you like one of them, you will like the other one as well.

saminimaster saminimaster says...

The humor about everyone's misunderstanding of basically everything and a mc that dosen't even know whats going on is definitely hilarious.

NoGameNoLifeXL NoGameNoLifeXL says...

Kings of being seen as superior beings because of misunderstandings or coincidences, multiple times in both stories the main characters are placed higher than the average person, people referr to them as gods (not actually) unbeatale beings, ones just a person who wants to be a hero the other is just a really good salesman

Daati Daati says...

Both characters were isekai'd into a fantasy world that has magic or fantastical elements. The actions that they impart upon the residents of the fantasy world is taken as a serious matter despite the protagonists themselves considering it a joke or an overreaction. If you like the character interactions with the residents in Shadow, then Devil's Lackey can also scratch that itch to a lesser degree.

Stop Summoning Me!

Stop Summoning Me!

Shen Yi was a 22-year-old ordinary guy who loved video games and reading comics. He was also easily mistaken for someone else. Then, Shen Yi started to get summoned by weird people ever since he traversed through a different universe. He was called the Lord of Ashes, Master of the Mirror City, Haze of the White Shore, Eldritch Deity, Void Sovereign, and the Ruler of Chaos... Every summoner had their needs. Mysterious groups seemed to summon him nonstop. The church, wizards, investigators, and saints offered various sacrifices. Shen Yi was deeply annoyed, but there was nothing he could do about it. Eventually, he was successfully summoned by cultists. Shen Yi had to face a girl who was presented as a sacrifice, and she had fainted on the altar!

The story of demon gods lackey is a bit different, because mc isn't in our would by but got transported to another and now is a librarian in that world. He meets powerful people who keeps misunderstanding his intentions as having deeper meanings and fearing his because the books in his library that look ordinary to him are dimensions to them. This is a really good story and is a must-read if you like this story.

PhotonDarkness PhotonDarkness says...

I agree with this recommendation. However, both are different in terms of plot.Lifespan is focused on trading people time,  using time, spending time and help build his foundationLacky is focused on misunderstandings as he tries to be a regular bookstore owner, but he is misunderstood by people as he uses the power of psychology with hot and cold readings to try to let people recommend a book.

The book appears to be normal for him (like Science and Math books) but to them, it looks like a grimoire which grants people foresight, power, or just seeing the legends.

Good tbh, in general the manhua don't rlly have harem or girls around the Mc. I don't rlly see alot of similarities but both of the mcs sure did build some sort of cult surrounding them. Anyways this manhua itself is already good on its own

Misunderstandings galore- "I'm not/ I'm really not" he says but actions and interpretations speak much louder than words- for better or worse.   "I'm not that kind of talent" is inarguably much higher quality, but the comedic and thematic vibes are so much alike I thought of the other web comic instantly

When Did I Become Unbeatable?

When Did I Become Unbeatable?

(Overpowered + Comedy + Godlike) He had always thought he was just a commoner. He never knew that he had a bunch of heavenly items stored at home. Even the chicken he rears was a phoenix! He had lived as a commoner in town for five years before the system allowed him to interact with cultivators. That was when he realized—the cultivators would collapse in fear when they saw him, regardless of how powerful they were. They would even start kneeling before him… This book is incredibly random and the style is peculiar. There'll be a surprise at the end!

Very similar concept of the protag being reincarnated/transmigrated into a fantasy world - although one is more magic based while the other is more on the cultivation and martial arts side. In both series all the world natives sense something incredible, unfathomable, and ridiculously strong from the protagonists and gain tremendously from interacting with him - even though the protagonist himself thinks he's a regular human and doesn't intend to help as much as he does. The "clueless op protagonist helps his friends and changes the world as he does" is a good comedic trope present in both stories.

The main difference apart from the worlds is the existence of a romantic partner in when did i become unbeatable, as well as a quest system, and the fact that there's an actual backstory present in when did I become invincible. However having this additions doesn't necessarily make it better - I personally enjoyed the devil's lackey more, but both are good and funny.

Both manwha/manhua have the same comic vibe while one use the absurd in its main narrative (devil's lackey) the other introduce this trope of non-sense via the drama they produce Both build up their stories which make both works more and more interesting.Even though the context is completly different it shares the same vibe. However while the humour in devil's lackey is mainly made via misunderstanding. In King of drama it's made through non-sense. But both of them have a main characters that are somehow charismetic and funny.
