Both Teppen and Ichigo Channel are about girls who become an idol not entirely by choice and as a "male idol" and has to hide the fact that she's a girl.
Ichigo Channel:
Ichiko and her younger brother Ken oneday are scouted to form the male idol group TriJet. Ichiko, opposed to this at first, decied to help Ken with his dream to become an idol, but for only a year! Ichiko is forbidden to reveal that she is a she during that one year, not even to the third member of the group, Kanzaki, the rising star who tried to kiss Ichiko on the street the other day because she was such a cute girl! Ichiko finds it difficult to spend every waking moment as a guy, one day as she ventures onto the streets as a female, she bumps into Kanzaki again. Trying to keep her secret she tells him that her name is "Ichigo". Having no idea that She is really TriJet member "Ichigou" (Who he hates) or "Ichiko" The girl he almost kissed, Kanzaki starts to fall for "Ichigo"!

Her father died when she was young and doesn't really remember him, her mother just recently died in London and her last words where that she has an older brother in Japan and he works on tv! The only hint as to who he might be is that he has a scar from a burn when he was young.. But soon after she arrived in Japan she runs into Takeru, a fairly new idol with a bad attitude. By chance she was forced to take auditions and passed. The catch is that the agency only takes males and though that Kobato was male due to the way she acts. Now she has to live in the dorms with Takeru...
