I always like to read manhwas regardless of the reviews because I know a lot of people are often quick to judge but dam. I finished this manhwa and the reviews were not wrong LMAO. I am so utterly disappointed.  I honestly dont know if there was actually anything appealing about this storyline. I initially got into this manhwa because I love father-daughter tropes. In fact, one good example of a story with bad reviews is Daughter of the Emperor but seeing the father-daughter trope made up for the terrible storyline. However, I cant say the same for this one.  Storyline: Everything seemed so dam forced. Nothing about this storyline flowed nicely at all. I've read stories where the author introduces something new for plots sake once or twice but this literally happens all throughout the story. The pacing was weird and I just think that the story was written poorly. This story reminds me of a shoujo anime where there are different "arcs" pertaining to the MC and what she goes through. However, it was poorly executed. It almost seemed like this story was just trying to hit as many cliche tropes as much as possible rather than doing things that actually would make sense with the flow and direction of the story.  Characters: The characters are introduced in a similar manner to the plot line. Extremely random. Their introduction and the way the relationship develops is so underwhelming. They meet once and then their dynamic becomes super close but we as the readers don't understand exactly how they got close. The interactions aren't fleshed out as much as they should be. It wasn't so bad in the beginning but it progressively got worse. It got to the point where it felt like the author was just introducing random ass characters (that stay irrelevant until the end) simply to fulfill tropes that typical stories have like the "school best friend" trope or the "famous student council" trope for example. These characters come in but they literally play no further role in the storyline. They fulfill the role of the background character to the T. It's like you know in isekai stories they make fun of the trope of the background characters being there just to further the plot? Yeah imagine that but it's not a joke, it's really how the author decided to tell the story. One or two characters is whatever but the author was literally pumping out one character after another. It was a lot of uneccessary fluff.  Father-daughter dynamic: Considering the fact that the title of this story is "Demon King's Daughter" you would think that this would play an integral part of the storyline. And I mean it does to some extent, but their relationship does not get nearly as developed as you would expect it to. The role that the father plays is literally just that. A role. Nothing about what he did made me think "wow he really really loves her." It was more like "I am her father so I have to play the role of the father. This is the offspring of the love of my life so I have to be there for her." It was extremely forced. Spoiler: One specific thing that really sealed my thoughts on the mediocre pairing is the fact that initially, her father played up to the expectation that he would be extremely protective of her and would not want to send her off to marriage. But at the end, when the mom comes back down from training or whatever, he immediately stops giving two fucks and sends her off happily. It was like "oh my wife came home? Alright you can do whatever you want now." It's like our MC really just was the mom's replacement until the mom came home. LOL It was extremely confusing because the whole "daddy's little girl" thing got dropped once the mom came back into the picture. Odd. Spoiler End Romance: The romance was alright. There are two potential MC's and they go through the whole conflict thing that's expected of most romance stories. Nothing spectacular. Spoiler: The manhwa takes a different route than the novel. The entire time I knew who the storyline was setting up to be the MC but the manhwa creater said no. Because the manhwa alterred the ending rather than the entire plotline to make it make sense, it was extremely confusing and contributed to my opinion of the story lacking flow. At the end, I was like wtf really? Because the 2nd ML syndrome was so apparent on one character that it seriously felt awkward when I read the end. And don't get me wrong, I was rooting for the one she ends up with but this narrative just felt forced (which it was). Spoiler End.  Art: It was ok. What you see in the beginning is what you basically get until the end.  Overall: Would I recommend this? No not really. I like to think I'm kind of generous with rating manhwa and I like to root for underdogs. But this story was a mess. You can give it a shot but don't expect anything grand. It was an ok read but it got to the point where I definitely just wanted to get it over with. I think if I was 12-13 I would've really liked the story.
