It's best to think of this as two separate stories. The first one is only Volume 1 - a swordsman without any talent gets the chance to train a 100 million years long and get's stronger. After this he just uses the button mutliple times till he get's supernaturally strong (aka flying slashes and attacks which rend the whole world) and then he uses his might - fin. From Volume 2 on the author had the brilliant idea - hey we need something more powerful, let's gift it just about everyone - and suddenly he's not the strongest anymore - even his world rending attacks are not strong enough to damage the world anymore and get overpowered by attacks which don't damage it. At the end he wins every fight even though the others are stronger when he taps his own hidden might (which has a own personality....) If you don't mind the obvious plot holes and many discrepancies, it might be worth a read. If you really don't like something inconsistent you could read only Volume 1. The story is kind of interesting in the following Volumes with many new opponents who are stronger than the protagonist but get defeated by him - mostly because you just want to know what happens when he finally unleashes his full potential.
