I love this one no matter what you say.
The MC does what he feels needed and is an apsolute beast. He isn't full of himselfe in a way that feels fake and is not the pure evil kind of villain. The caracters are good enoguth to feel that the storywriter put in enouh effort, and the story has a lot of potential.
The story is like a mix of similar genres but not in the way that he stole from others.
I personally recomend it as it has adequate descriptions of skills and items, and the story is a great read, at least for me.
Mc is a total jerk. He can betray anyone for his gains. Thats why this manhwa is so unique. Mc is totally the evil and scheemer type. And the overall world building and characters are also on point.
How To Live As A Villain[Review]
By [Updating]
Story:
This story is a branch off multiple genres that fuse. The story possesses some unique and original qualities and elements, and the motive of the MC is to become stronger. However, the MC is portrayed as "villain" like, although he is not really a villain. But the MC will betray whoever he deems "useless" so to survive and thrive. This quality is what separates it from other fantasy-isekai manhwa.
Overall, the fantasy world is built pretty decently, with enough explanations and explorations of the "RPG" themed system, its mechanics, and overall important qualities to remember in the new fantasy world.
Art:
The art is somewhat decent with tones and shades of colors being utilised to a certain extent, and with sufficient linework that supports the art checklist as well.
Characters:
The characters are developed to some extent and there are some background stories and experiences that are shown throughout the manhwa. The MC is completely different from other fantasy-isekai MCs, and is extremely cold and ruthless.
Overall:
Overall, I recommend you should read this manhwa due to its uniqueness and its difference. The story is rather intriguing and detailed. Please comment your thoughts and other comments. If you liked "Regressor Instructional Manual", you would like this manhwa series as well.
Thanks for reading my review!
Its a pretty intereting manhwa to read. Characters are interesting, their development is good. Plot is decent, and arcs have variation. Its not just repetition of same thing with more power like many others.
My gripe is that MC is pure evil. I mean all the negative adjectives (vicious, cruel, nasty, etc) you can imagine apply to him. And its not like its necessary evil or evil for surviving. He is evil for his greed of power. He kills ppl even when alternate paths are present and till chapter 82 he hasnt received any backlash because of it. This whole story feels like devils advocate, that be rutheless if you want to be strong. And that just doesnt sit right with me.
I've stalled this for now, because I'm currently not interested in that kind of genre. It was a decent read so far.
The setting is quite dark. Not in an apocalyptic way, though. Instead it's at the character-level. The "players" here all have their own goals and most of them are very shady. What you can basically say is: The people who look shady, definitely are and those who look innocent will be revealed to be the most twisted soon.
This is also what generates the tension in this story. You never know when people show their true self and betray each other or the MC. The same btw goes for the MC. He is just as ruthless as them (which I like, because a wannabe hero won't fit into this setting at all)
