Hour of the Zombie

Akira is your typical student living a conventional high school life. He has dreams and aspirations like everyone else, and an unrequited crush on his childhood friend, Kurumi. Unfortunately for him she seems more interested in Akira’s best friend, Umezawa. And yet their innocent love triangle pales in comparison to what the three friends are about to experience, even if it may yet be their saving grace. Students are suddenly turning into frenzied zombies, attacking and gorging themselves upon each other's flesh. The school is being torn apart until suddenly... they stop. With the zombies apparently back to normal, the school is now divided between the previously turned and the unbitten. But how long will this peace last? And what caused students to turn in the first place? When any of your classmates could suddenly decide to have you for lunch, a friendly face can become the scariest thing in the room.

It was meh, the main character is retarded and keeps thinking the world is such a perfect and ideal place. None of the asshole of the story get what they deserve because for some reason 70% of the characters are like "u just killed my best friend and committed a genocide 5 minutes ago but now it's find because we need to break the hate cycle". Only character I liked was the dude who manipulated everyone especially his "buddy". Would've put a 6/10 if it wasn't for the shitty ending with no conclusion whatsoever.

The main character is insufferable and I hate him from the very start. His obsessivness with this girl isn't realistic or charming its just annoying and down right infuriating at some points considering how he treats his friends.  Another edgy character in particular will literally attempt to murder people but no one cares or dislikes him because of it. It doesn't make sense and is just kinda dumb.  I'm only on chapter 7 but the "twist" for the zombies is really dumb and kinda removes a lot of the urgency from everything. If I didn't have such a hardon for zombies I would rate this series even lower.  If you want a zombie manga you'd be better off reading high school of the dead or cradle of monsters.
