Reasons you might like Gourmet Hound...

Lupa Lupa says...

Honey Sweet Kitchen and Gourmet Hound both share a similar premise and target audience: they are josei romance stories revolving around a young woman and a small reverse  harem of good looking and highly talented chefs.

The female MC's share A LOT of similar traits. Both are roughly college aged, love eating good food even though they can't cook themselves, have a naive and cheerful outlook on life, and have a charismatic personality that causes the other characters to want to help them achieve their goals. They are also in similar situations - more or less on their own, trying to accomplish some sort goal caused by the recent death of a grandmother who ran a cooking school.

The reverse harem aspects are fairly mild in both manga, and generally serve a's a secondary focus in the story. The main love interest in both stories are a little prickly, have trouble communicating, but are ultimately good, kind-hearted people.

She's so busy with work that she's resigned herself to having instant noodles and other unhealthy food from convenience stores for dinner every night. One day as she's stocking up on instant food, a guy asks her "Can you really get energy from that kind of food?" He is actually from Ensenji Temple, where the head priest Gendou is an amazing cook. The next day, Sachi meets the guy again, and he invites her to go flower viewing at the temple. Moved by the Buddhist cuisine that they treat her to and their words of encouragement, Sachi finds herself inspired to cook with fresh ingredients from the supermarket for the first time in a long time.
