Extra story: Granulated Sugar (volume 8)
This manga would be my aboslute favorite, it's wholesome, sweet, and positive all around, but.. Positives: A very wholesome story. Young romance and love between highschoolers. Characters all have different personalities and are shown to be unique individuals that get along despite their differences. It breaks stereotypes as someone who looks scary and mean is actually kind and loving. A (mostly) healthy relationship is depicted in the main characters and they obviously care about one another. It is a refreshing break from the disturbing nature of many other mangas. Short and ended far too soon but definitely worth a read. Negatives: The art style depicts all of the characters as extremely skinny, unrealistically so. There is no variation in body types. Can be triggering to some people to see how the art style shows the characters to be slightly... sickly (anorexic) looking. Beyond that there are a few too many scenes where consent is breached and it appears to be sexual assault, it is always seen as okay. While one character is visibly uncomfortable or in distress they always forgive the other person easily and it's usually played off as a 'joke'. One character presses another against a wall and ignores her speaking up asking him to stop, they end up becoming good friends.... its a very bad message. The main character also kisses a girl (UNCONSENSUALLY) in her sleep and she does not seem very bothered. wtf mate
