"Sorry I'm not at all like him... I love you". Torao Yamada commits suicide after learning his lover passed away. However, he wakes up in the future and learns he was cryogenically frozen for 250 years. The android that takes care of him is nice, but is a version of his past lover that is "lacking by 30%"... This is a sad and futuristic story about a hard-headed young man who seeks out love.
This is a story about a boy who kills himself after his lover dies, only to come back 250 years later to find an adroid-version of the lover who had died. I found the story to be very emotional and creative. It moved me to tears more than once, and was overall a very sweet, but dark story about love and acceptance. It was quite short, so there wasn't a great deal of character development as such, despite the fact that it spans, like, 500 years, but I found myself growing to want the best for the characters very quickly. At times, the whole alive-dead-alive thing left me a step behind. At times, the pacing felt a bit rushed and there were moments that could have been expanded on to become a more important part of the story, but were sort of brushed over. There was certainly more than enough content for 500-Nen no Itonami to have warranted another few volumes.
