Both the series revolves around fighting against something completely unknown to the protagonist. The theme is pretty much the same.

I love both, they're both pretty dark and gruesome, but they both bring up themes of humanity/what it means to be a human or a monster. Lots of room to talk here about ethics, morality, mortality and philosophy but that would take too long so read them yourself and make your own judgements! Fight scenes are all stellar, and the art and concepts are incredible

The stories are very similar to each other and I will now list the common points:

-Both protagonists have a very similar goal (Tanjiro find a cure for his sister, Gabimaru find the elixir of eternal youth to return to his wife)

-Both are set in very similar historical periods of Japan

-Both ultimately end up facing a threat far greater than themselves as their final enemies

-Both have a very similar power system to advance in the story (the Tao for Hell's Paradise and the breathing techniques for demon slayer)

-Both are in a dark fantasy context where allies can die at any time.

They've both got remarkably similar premises: a group of people who don't know what they're getting into are sent off to explore an island teeming with dangerous monsters. The monster designs in each series are quite striking as well.
