A series of mysterious murders without injury are happening in Tokyo, how will Kumoi Soutarou react to them?
Kumoi Soutarou is good at reading the subtleties of peoples' emotions. And in a sense, that idea of hidden emotions coming out is sorta the central theme of this story. There's this thing known as Circus Disease that has a connection with feeding on the fear of others or causing people to lose control of their emotions or perhaps both or something (I honestly didn't follow it entirely). There are magicians who have supernatural powers and the ability to interact with souls. The artwork has a lot of dark and grisly moments, which can look pretty good. The faces can look a bit off-kilter and stiff. The eyes look good when drawn close up. They also do a thing with creepy pupils looking like the suits of playing cards. There's one panel which had a shadow where eyes and the mouth were drawn out (which is impossible, and also just looked kinda weird). I guess the story is kinda creepy. But it's honestly not that great of a story.
