A young priestess has formed her first adventuring party, but almost immediately they find themselves in distress. It's the Goblin Slayer who comes to their rescue--a man who's dedicated his life to the extermination of all goblins, by any means necessary. And when rumors of his feats begin to circulate, there's no telling who might come calling next...

WOW! What Can I say? I thought this manga was just a little fun time isekai! I never expected that it would turn out to be a brutal dark fantasy manga, with disturbing scne, that seems like they came out from berserk! Well I think, that if you like dark fantasy theme, this manga is a MUST with berserk, it's not a masterpiece, at least for the moment, but it's still epic! Story I don't want to to say anything about the story, because right now we have really few material, I mean all volume cover only to the 3 LN there are like 12 out there. The plot is simple for the moment, it' about a guy who want to kill goblin(I'm not gonna tell you why, otherwise it will be a spoiler). But from the last two volume we already seen a change in the character persona, he became more mature and more friendly towards others. So I can't really say anyting about the story, because it will probably change.(I added 10 to story because It's necessery to add a score, but we need to see the full development) Art The Art is amazing, one of the best, there are some scene that are are just prefect,You can see the rage, the massacre of Goblin Slayer in every single scene! Characters One of the thing really original of this manga, is that every character doesn't have a name, they only call each other with the name of their class or their job, Original at least. The goblin slayer party seems like a rip off of the fellowship of the ring, but with a Lizard-men, which is very funny, there's even a manga with the background of every character, that even describes the universe of goblin slayer Overall I think it's the best dark fantasy manga alongside Berserk.
Spoiler free and all that jazz. S far the manga has been great. I love the main characters style where he has a goal and give little to few sh*ts about anyone elses problems unless they aid him in his goal. He is an adorable and likeable guy who just so happens to have some trauma. This is a great story with some strong characters and plot that makes SENSE with the main character's goal, what i mean is that the main character is always fixated on his own Sh*t and isn'y constantly forgetting his past and motivations in life to help some random a*h*le with saving the world or whatever the hell happens in those over the top anime/managa out there.
Now, this, this is how you properly indulge in the macabre and have a story whose main appeal is its explicit gore. The pain is drawn so evocatively. The designs for the goblins feel distinct from each other, like the goblins are their own people. This is especially true for the goblin leaders, but even within the mobs of gobs, they'll be given slight alterations and stuff--like tufts of hair or accessories. The goblin pupils are creepy, scattershot slits. It's interesting how compelling the characters are even while largely remaining unnamed. Goblin Slayer (also known as Orcbolg and Beard Cutter) is probably the most single-minded and focused character ever. Fe is constantly thinking about goblins and judges all tools based on how effectively they could be used to kill goblins. Fe is merciless and almost inhumanly pragmatic, willing to do anything and everything to accomplish feir singular goal and not caring if fe hurts people's feelings. Fe gets no joy from killing goblins. It's just what fe does. And honestly, this story would be ruined if fe enjoyed it. Fe starts out as a lone wolf, but joins up with a group of very interesting adventurers, and has slowly started showing signs of thinking about non-goblin things and caring about other people. So far I've counted them dealing with seven goblin nests and two goblin hordes. During this they've encountered goblin shamans, lords, and champions, as well as hobgoblins and some non-goblin monsters. The current nest they're dealing with may have a new type of threat--a goblin paladin. It's interesting seeing the various despicable tactics the goblins use as well as the creative counterstrategies Goblin Slayer is able to come up with. The fight scenes are absolutely beautiful simply for the gore, but they're also kept fresh and interesting because of the various types of battlegrounds and tactics. Not all of the story arcs are equally engaging (like, for example, I didn't really care for chs. 36-40), but overall it's able to maintain my interest. Which is actually is pretty impressive considering how repetitive and nihilistic the story actually is (it's just endless fights against goblins with no hope of ever exterminating them all). Overall, I love this manga and look forward to what comes next: more goblin slaying! [Reviewed at chapter 46]
